I wouldn't mind seeing Herrera and Carrick as a midfield two with I suppose Rooney playing behind the striker.

And oh, I hear Darmian's suspended.

The two teams with most clean sheets and with the least shots in the PL... It's not rocket science to see how this will end.

For the first time in a longtime, result not the priority for me today. Want to see attacking football and some entertainment for once. My line up would be(But it won't be that obviously)

    --------------------De Gea---------------------
    Young------Mike-------Blind-----Rojo

    --------------Schneiderlin-----Herrera------

    Lingard--------------Mata-----------Depay
    ----------------Martial----------------

What I expect it to be
    -----------------------De Gea-------------------
    Young--------Mike--------Blind-----Rojo

    --------------Schneiderlin-----Schweini--------
    Lingard-------------Herrera------------Martial

    ------------------Rooney------------------

    Schneiderlin is out.

Schneiderlin isn't definitely out. Just a high probability. He'll most likely be on the bench.

Apologies, I'd only seen the quote that he is ill. Didn't realise he was in contention.

Last time we played a match on this day was in 2012 against Sporting Braga. This was the starting XI:

    De Gea

    Valencia
    Smalling
    Evans
    Evra

    Nani
    Anderson
    Rooney
    Giggs

    Hernandez
    Welbeck

Think the midfield was a diamond with Anderson and Rooney central

Ferguson, diamond? Never 442 with Ando and Rooney in midfield.

Was that the night the lights went out?

My November top 10 position is under serious threat if Morgan doesn't play.

You wonder how long it will be before the powers that be realise this is happening a lot and start to worry about it. It is less exposure for the club.

As one writer in the paper here preview the game. WBA with 10 men behind the ball - United setting a new record in passes and no shots. Then WBA tire - and United nick the Winner in the 80th minute.

I just have a good feeling about this game

#mufc XI: De Gea; Young, Smalling, Blind, Rojo; Carrick, Schweinsteiger; Lingard, Mata, Martial; Rooney.

    UNITED TEAM
Louis van Gaal names an unchanged side. Young defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson makes the bench.

De Gea; Young, Smalling, Blind, Rojo; Carrick, Schweinsteiger; Lingard, Mata, Martial; Rooney. Subs: Romero, Borthwick-Jackson, Jones, Schneiderlin, Herrera, Pereira, Memphis.

    10/11

    Darmian/Young.

    Good side. 4-0

Carrick and Schweinstiger at home vs a team who will come to defend. Bloody hell

    Didn't expect that midfield tbh.

Games on NBC for anyone looking for it.

    NBCSN and NBCSN extra.

442 sort-of thing again? Not pleased with Basti and Carrick in a home game like this. Ander ought to have started.

Early signs from the CSKA match, as I saw it, were that we're switching tactics to get the ball forward more quickly. Carrick and BFS can do that from deep with their excellent passing, particularly Carrick.
