Can't see us playing with 3 at the back, mainly because we are short of CB's.
Fellaini due to be back so probably him and Carrick in midfield.
Guessing Rashford up top and fast players around him.
Rooney available, hopefully on the bench.
Mourinho did mention before Darmian could feature as center-back, even more so with 3 at the back, I suppose.

Yeah I can't see Young starting, and having Mata on the bench would be ludicrious.
If we feature 3 at the back, it's almost sure Young starts as left wingback. Also, I feel Mourinho might choose players he had time to work with, those who weren't on international duty.

I was hoping we were playing 3 at the back because everyone was tired before the internationals, hopefully we don't intend to play that way permanently, although we may revert to it later as we have so many matches

    -----------de Gea
    Valencia--Bailly--Rojo--Young
    --------Carrick--Blind
    --Mata--Mkhitaryan--Lingard/Martial
    ---------Rashford

Hard one to pick. It's probably going to be a 343 with Blind at LCB:

    --------------de Gea
    ---------Bailly--Rojo--Blind
    -Valencia--Carrick--Mata--Young
    --Mkhitaryan--Rashford--Lingard

Would you really go into this without Fellaini? The only one of our 4 tallest players available.

He had a knock, but Mourinho didn’t mention him at all when asked about injured players. Hope he’s fit.
If he is fit then there's a good chance we line up 4321. 343 is only likely because any midfield partnership of Carrick/Blind, Carrick/Mata, will require three CBs. It's too lightweight. Fellaini would be perfect for this game as an 8.

Agree on the last part. Regarding the 3-4-3, we’ve used it for a few weeks even with all the midfielders available, if I remember correctly.

Yeah we have. If it is to be a 343 then Mata will be left out for Fellaini, and Martial is likely to play ahead of Lingard. He's had two weeks off, so should be well rested.

    I would like us to start;

    DDG
    Valencia Bailly Rojo Shaw
    Carrick TFM
    Lingard Miki Martial
    Rashford

A bit slow in the middle but hopefully could make it up with pace on the wings and pace upfront, as well as good passing in the middle.

Best way to defend against WBA will be to ATTACK.

Don't sit back and give them crosses and corners like we did at Boro FFS.

Keep them pinned in their half and we don't need to worry about how many giants they have.

Shaw's our 5th choice left-back, most people on here would happily see Rooney never play for the club again, Fellaini and Martial are both likely to be available.

Again, your trying to make our injury situation appear much worse than it actually is.

A fully fit Shaw isn't 5th choice. Where have you heard that about Martial and Fellaini? If Fellaini is back then great, but if we only have one CM available then that is clearly a problem.

Let me guess, you're a Mourinho hater trying to set your stall out early in downplaying injuries because, secretly, you know full well that we have a big chance of dropping points tomorrow and want to be able to complain about it without hearing about injuries.

Every player in the centre of that except Carrick is rapid. Not that we'll pick that side but still.

I edited the team but forgot to update the comment.
I had a midfield 3 of Mata Carrick and blind... Lol

    Is Rooney fit?

Him and Carrick in the centre could be on the cards if so...

Rooney is declared fit, but I don't think so with Mourinho had to go back on his word about not playing Rooney in midfield literally (he did with some sort of weird tactic having Rooney playing deeper & in midfielder after failing as no 10 for most part after coming on as sub; with Pogba & Fellaini bombard forward vs L'pool).

And logically it would be disaster against West Brom seeing how physical shot both Carrick & Rooney are. Fellaini or even TFM alongside with Carrick is not bad idea this game. Lingard & Mickhitryan are better with their energy. Lingard did very well vs Boro prior the international break & was very good vs West Brom in the away fixture. Micki is no brainer vs Rooney in term of quality.

He'll go with Fellaini. With Smalling, Zlatan and Pogba all missing the team loses a lot of height. And this is against the best team in the league when it comes to set pieces.

If Fellaini is injured then we are going to struggle with defending their corners. Especially with Ibra and Smalling also missing

Is this the first weekend with the FA's sophisticato tracking and banning of streams?

How will non match fans in U.K. cope?? Hope some internet whizz kids have worked out some high tech work arounds.

They will never be able to stop the streamers.

    DDG
    Valencia Rojo, Bailly, Blind
    Carrick, Fellaini,
    Mhkitariyan, Rooney, Martial
    Rashford

    Subs: Shaw ,Young, Lingard

Should be easily good enough team to win.

Agreed. We've got bags of pace and craft in the attacking third, might as well go for it. Rashford vs Macaulay should be an interesting match up..

Can see Darmien getting a game at left back tomorrow to help provide the height in set pieces.

Would be interesting to see a similar chart for goals conceded from corners as well. We must be one of the better sides in defending corners.

    Players spotted:
    1. David de Gea
    2. Sergio Romero
    3. Joel Pereira
    4. Antonio Valencia
    5. Timothy Fosu-Mensah
    6. Matteo Darmian
    7. Eric Bailly
    8. Axel Tuanzebe
    9. Marcos Rojo
    10. Michael Carrick
    11. Matty Willock
    12. Marouane Fellaini
    13. Jesse Lingard
    14. Ashley Young
    15. Henrikh Mkhitaryan
    16. Wayne Rooney
    17. Marcus Rashford
    18. Anthony Martial
Mata, Blind and Shaw not spotted, though Blind tends to arrive at a different time. I'd imagine both Mata and Blind will be in the squad.

    DDG
    Valencia Bailly Rojo Shaw
    Carrick Blind
    Mata Mkhitaryan Martial
    Rashford

If Fellaini is fit it will be him and Carrick in MF with Blind at LB.
    Lingard, TFM, Rooney as subs.

Edit: or Darmian at LB over Shaw.

    18. Anthony Martial
Mata, Blind and Shaw not spotted, though Blind tends to arrive at a different time. I'd imagine both Mata and Blind will be in the squad.

So with Mata confirmed out, I assume Blind will take the final place with Pereira being out of the 18.

    Team will probably be:

    De Gea

    Valencia Bailly Rojo Blind
    Carrick Fellaini
    Lingard Mkhitaryan Martial
    Rashford

Subs: Romero, Fosu-Mensah, Darmian, Tuanzebe, Willock, Young, Rooney

Think any of Darmian, Young or Rooney could end up in the starting XI.

Looks like the perfect lineup. Would like to see TFM gets some minutes at some point.
