A plus for Mou here. By this time of the season with Moyes and VG I used to think it was pointless discussing team line-ups, they always played dull stuff no matter how many yards to the left or right we put this or that player. Now it seems to be something of real importance.

Mourinho said a change in formation, does that mean going back to 433 with Carrick/Herrera/Pogba?

Most likely will be same lineup as today but if Carrick comes back in then Mata will probably be the one to make way.

Mata should not be dropped please. His combo with Miki seems deadly.

Carrick should remain on the bench.

Yes, Martial for Rashford if he has been behaving himself in the dressing room.

It's a pity Pogba has been pushed back in the last two or three games. He is undoubtedly better further upfront although his last few games there were poor.

We need to win, we're off the back of a really good result, and it's a very winnable game.

    0-0 draw it is then.

    LOL!

I feel you mate. Each time they have to win, they seem to draw. Well, except for last weekend though.

Apparently in the press conference, just read it on last page of this thread.
From what I watched of it he simply said for the previous match he trained them with two formations and is developing the ability to change formation mid game to pose challenges to the opposition. Didn't see him say anything about formation for this game.

Why not? He's been really poor for a while now. If a player isn't playing well they should be dropped.

Agreed. He might get a few minutes off the bench but its 50/50 with Rooney returning
I'd like to see him get some minutes but probably unlikely, I think though if we revert to a 4-3-3 we'll start Mkhitaryan and Mata and drop Rashford.

If it is Martial, mata and miki playing together then thats going to be brilliant. Hopefully they all play as they can so Mourinho keeps them for the next one.

    M.E.N. speculating again.

    Mourinho to make one change
It’s unconfirmed of course, but the early suggestion is Anthony Martial for Marcus Rashford will be the only change to the United side which beat Leicester.

That would mean Marcos Rojo, who came off at half-time at the King Power Stadium and was not pictured in training this week, is available to continue at left-back.

Mourinho spoke effusively about Rashford on Friday and the only peep about Martial was the injury he suffered in the build-up to Watford’s opener against United in September. The reverse psychology was convincing (provided Martial starts). Perhaps the key to Martial lining up in the future is for him not to be talked about in a relevant way.

We should reiterate the team is unconfirmed.

Rumour on twitter is that Rooney starts so that could be the one change Mourinho is apparently making. Probably a load of nonsense though.

Then I shouldn't have changed my prediction:)

A foul was made on Martial in the lead-up to Watford's goal against us in the reverse fixture. If I remember correctly, since that game, Martial has never really managed to cement his place in the team. So, it would be poetic justice if he destroys Watford today and becomes a regular starter for the remainder of the season.

Thinking it might be something like this:

    DDG

    Valencia - Bailly - Smalling - Rojo

    Herrera - Pogba

    Mata - Mhiki - Martial

    Zlatan

    Hi all, newbie sneaking in!

This could be a difficult game as defensively Watford is a well organized team. However I think we will start to convert some of the many chances we have been creating.

We also need to nullify Deeney. If we manage to do so we should be fine.

    I have gone for:

    De gea

    Valencia Bailly Smalling Blind

    Herrera Carrick Pogba

    Mkhitaryan Ibra Martial

Despite thinking Rashford will be on the left instead of Martial, I have gone for who I think is the better player on the left wing. I do hope Jose picks Martial as he was returning to form before being dropped. Martial when up for it - can be a real handful and will be difficult for Watford to manage.

Rashford to me looks a little lost on the left and seems to predictably slow the game down as he is not great at crossing from the left. He is a lot better as a center forward or on the right (However not at the expense of Mkhitaryan).

    3 – 1 United

To be fair they've been generally quite reliable.
