Only just hit me that AWB out and Shaw Maguire injured Saturday.

Hope they're ok or our back line is going to look grim (in what is probably a must win match too).

    Dalot Lindelof Varane Telles?... :nono:
That's still a back 4 that 90% of europe would be happy with. No excuses.

Pretty sure this ain't happening...Chelsea and Athletic haven't beaten them...our chances to even score are grim...add Ole's obsession with McFred we have a implosion incoming!
Chelsea and athletico don't have Bruno and ronaldo, who are both going to be pissed off with a point to prove.

So apparently these guys like a good 0-0, and are difficult to break down. This could be a rough one, even more so now we need to win.

At the risk of stating the obvious, hopefully, we can get an early goal

Am I the only one who is absolutely not confident about this game? Really feel like we will be ponderous and slow in Midfield, will concede chances, and struggle to make our own.

I don't see them scoring more than 1 against us, even with that back four. Its more a matter of making sure we score. If we score first I think we cruise it.

I don't think any of us know's what to expect.

We could thrash them 5-0, we could lose 2-1. This United side is very Jekyll and Hyde.

Solskjær: "The way we broke up play against Villa, I think they (McTominay and Fred) are very intrumental together. The energy and desire. I really like to have the two of them and I can trust them to give us what they've got."

He must be talking about breaking up our play

Reminder that the youth version of this game is being aired for free on the UEFA.TV app.

Hes got to for it, another bore draw and the pressure will really start to mount. We have got to win this game.

I'm calling 3-1. Ole has a knack of getting results when his future is being talked about.

Isn‘t there some ridiculous stats that most games between United and Villareal are crap and mostly all end in a draw? Time to break that if true as it’s a must win.

I’m not all that confident but hopeful we get it done.

I have a funny feeling we will see a back 5. Something like this

    ------------------------De Gea---------------------
    --------------Varane--Lindelof--Bailly------------
    Dalot------------------------------------------Telles
    -------------------Pogba-----Fred-------------------
    ----------------------------Bruno------------------------
    -------------------Cavani------Ronaldo-------------

I would love to see Pogba either moved into the middle or kept on the bench but I cannot see Ole going for that in this game. I expect the McFred axis to be deployed in all of it's glory and that will mean shoehorning Pogba into the team as a winger despite the obvious issues this creates with width. I do think Sancho will start as Ole may well reason that he is a more natural wide player than Mason and is also more likely to find his feet in the comfort of a European game than in the PL at this point. Mason is a nice option alongside Cavani to come on in the second half once Villareal are tiring.

    Oh ffs

Ole just said that Shaw might be back, but it would be insane to play him knowing the horrible run of games we have this months. I would play Telles tomorrow for sure.

BUT BUT BUT, if Ole doesn't play Sancho then it would be a crime.

Sancho played more games in CL than Bruno, Greenwood and Lingard combined. Hope Ole will give him a run

Honestly, they are the worst type of teams to play. They go for the draw, injuries and a greasy goal from a set-piece. God, I miss 90s football.
