Mata and Darmian combining well. Think Mata's been lively.

    Yellow card for Tottenham Hotspur

Rooney and Mata link up on the edge of the box and the Spaniard is hacked down by Vertonghen.

Here comes Memphis from 20 yards!
nice to have a right back who is able to defend again. shame we always need a midfielder to play in defence though and we have blind as our weak spot instead.

Doesn't matter when if we are at home, when we are playing a top team, we shouldn't have 2 midfielders when we play the risk of getting overrun. These aren't bottom of the table fodder that we can play 4-4-2 against. Last season at home we played 4-3-3 against these lots and blew them out the water

I think mata does miss the link up play with Herrera, has the season goes on I do think VG must include Herrera so we don't get overrun

I wonder what Darmian would be like with a winger to work the overlap or combine with when he gets forward.

Maybe LVG might consider Memphis for that sometime soon.

    Lovely play from Memphis!! Beautiful.

Starting to come into it a bit now. Very nervous 15 mins at the start!

Nope, it's Mata and it the free-kick hits the top of the wall. Not easy getting it up and down over the wall from that range.

Darmian keeps it really simple doesnt he. Like a Gary Neville type full back. Solid - doesn't try anything too special but is always willing to run the overlap and whip a cross in. (Not saying he's in the same class as Neville - just a similar style attacking wise).

Young recycles the ball from the free-kick and sets up Memphis on the edge of the box but his shot is blocked in front of goal.

Much better from United, Memphis in particularly is looking good, seeing plenty of the ball and using it well.
Young's generally looked quite dangerous so far.
