This performance, particularly from our back line and midfield has nothing to do with Woodward. Matic - Pogba doesn't have enough mobility or awareness of danger to play as a 2. Further excarberated by Fernandes playing so high up the pitch.

And I don't know where to begin with the examination of our back like. 200 million pound worth of duds.

Maguire was comical in all the goals, we shouldn't avoid some things anymore. And he's always been shaky too, not just this season. The fact he is captain is even beyond words. People use last years defensive stats as support for Maguire and Lindelof, but completely ignore the pressing from the front that made it very difficult for teams to have a proper go at us. In my view our overall team defense from last season covered our weak CBs intead of them being any good at defending.

Bailly will be scapegoated as always, and Pogba as well. But having such slow and lumbering players like Maguire and Matic, especially against teams that can get at you with pace, will always be recipe for disaster.

Agreed, it's difficult to make decisions on individual players while there is such a maelstrom of negativity around the club. You find when things are going terribly good players can look like utter amateurs, it's happened on too many occasions to not warrant attention.

That said Maguire is a genuine 0/10 today, and several other players are down there too. Collectively we're in a state but there are individuals who have to look at themselves and ask whether they have the stomach and the mentality for the fight we have on our hands this year.
