Perisic and Alderweireld would have improved us, but with so many transfer flops, especially the Chilean Rooney on huge wages, you can atleast sympathise a bit with Woodward's perspective (not letting him off the hook though).
Alderweirled would've improved a us ten fold. Just because of our transfer history we should stop buying players? That's what Woodward did. He didn't get Perisic because he wanted to keep martial happy? That's the narrative atleast. What's the point of it? Martial looks utterly disinterested. Our entire defence is a joke and that's what Mourinho wanted to change really

Sacking Jose wouldn't change anything. What's rotten about our club - and it is looking rotten - goes way deeper. Until there is an internal shift in the running of the club, and the incentives of our board, it'll just be eat, drink, repeat.

I'm fecking bored to death of this shite.

I say we wait till January to judge Mourinho and until 2020 for Ed. Most of you fans are just that, fans. Spoiled with success and not real supporters. is what i've been reading for a few weeks

Yeah blame us for being upset.

To be fair to the back line, the useless midfield put them under incredible pressure.

Yes, poor from Smalling not to take the ball but allowing the fastest player on the pitch a one v one with a CB is woeful.

the fact we folded like a deck of cards after the first says it all really

    he's lost the players

we should sack him now but we all know that won't happen, we'll fanny around for 6 months, probably spunk £50m on garbage in January, and then fire him in May

Thing is, how often do managers ever wrestle these kind of situations back?

Pointless to keep him around IMO

If by arrogance you mean sheer bloody mindedness to keep trying things on the pitch, I actually think he does have that inner belief all strikers need. But ability wise, I totally agree with you. He's not turd, but not the top top level we need.

Yeah. The arrogance and ability come hand in hand. Cantona, Ibra, Ruud.....Opposing defenders feared them.

To be fair it's not easy to find a striker who can take that one chance in a game that wins you the game. Given the deficiencies in the rest of the team, lacking such a striker is highlighted even more.

Having said all that, I like him, he tries and wish him all the best.

    Oh and feck you Woodward.

I must admit I scoffed at my Rent mate telling me he wouldn’t make the 11th game...

About 2 mins ago when Lingard took the shot, why wasn't Valencia on the right side down the line in position to take a pass and cross?
What the feck is he doing hanging back?

Utd beat Spurs twice last year, Spurs have added no-one.

One side looks a team, the other a collection of individuals in a messy set up.

People shout 'play attacking football' this is why we don't.. we are a shambles defensively and can only win matches by outnumbering their attack in defence..

I thought we would lose 2-1 but when I saw the line-up had a feeling it could get embarrassing...

Let's face facts. If Jose went then who would come on seeing the shit he put up with in the summer. Look at city any player he wants they buy and it's worked. I can't think of anybody to replace Jose. If he left we'd start all over again. Tonight we played ok but same old shit in defence Jones and smelling were rubbish which Jose wanted to replace. Also need a striker.

Mourinho was right on both of them, Woodward....not so much.

Read first half here and thought things were going well. Battering Spurs and pressing high and playing expansive football.

Went for a nice dinner (goat and a fine green wine) and saw its 0-3 now. What the heck happened?

Surely if Jose had an ounce of dignity in him, he'd be handing in his resignation tonight. He's never looked at home here, never will do.

Chris Sutton states the bleedin' obvious: "'They are not going to win a title with Mourinho in the dugout"

I want this over. So pissed off. Useless finishing and embarrassing defending.

I wouldn’t know who to sack first. Defensive coach, attacking coach or all of them.

Fair play to the fans still singing through this.

Or maybe that's the problem, that they're not applying enough pressure when it should be applied.
Singing is fine, actively chanting Mourinho's name while we're getting embarrassed at home is not and just gives the board another reason not to sack Mourinho.

All those calling for Mourinho's head, it's Woodward's you want.
Jose has had over a week to get his players up for this game.

We look tired, there is no flair or energy to our play whatsoever. It’s the third fecking game of the season! We can’t pass to each other, we don’t make the right decisions.

We look like a bunch of strangers who are all playing different games.

Woodward may have let us down, but Jose is on a fecking downward spiral which I don’t think he’s going to get out of.
