    Good half.

    Lukaku needs more support.

Pogba needs to get up to speed.

Back line still sketchy (but Alderweild doesn't look any better then Smalling or Jones)

Just to confirm that Ander is playing RCB. I thought that was the case during the match as Matic seemed to be in CM and away from the defense. But checking the heat maps I can see he's been much closer to Smalling and Jones.
Matic is invisible, and gives us NOTHING offensively at all. What is the point of him right now when we have three centre backs and two wing backs.

Lukaku needs to be fit. He is not at the races and his touch is bloody awful.

Smalling has his flaws, but this is now the 5th(?) time he's completely handled Kane with ease at OT(for now obviously).

    Easily our best defender.

Pogba just passing the ball then standing still. Why's he not passing then making an effort to get forward for the return pass? Don't think he's ever broken into a jog all game.

I bet if this was the French national team he'd be running his heart out. He is nowhere near, not even 10% the player he is for them as he is for us. You surely have to question his commitment for the club. He's mentally not here.

Good to see the players trying hard. Far far better than the shite served up last week. Thankfully, looks like Jose has not lost the dressing room atleast.

Shaw was very good, and for the first time, it gives me hope again. Matic and Valencia looking very rusty.

That's the third easy chance in 3 games that Lukaku has missed. Top strikers should be finishing at least 2/3 of those chances. He could easily prove to be the difference for us in such crucial games, and he has failed to so far.

Tbf I think that guy is more putting the blame on Lukaku and Pogba looking pub level out there and letting us down today. We are fully dominating Spurs but a few players letting us down, and they happen to be our 2 record signings.

There was no need to mention whether Mourinho has been backed or not then.

Much more entertaining than I thought it would be, though not particularly pretty. Also think Shaw has looked good. Could be like a new signing for you if he starts finding some form.

I'm not bothered with Rom missing chances, he will be very good, just needs time to get back in form after WC. But Pogba... Seriously growing some sort of unhealthy hate, and I don't even hate Felli. Fed up up with his teathrics. Only player that mekes me scream at tv, and I never did that.

Really enjoyed that. Faded badly in last 10 mins which was due to some players first game back. Our system made Spurs long ordinary and you can see it works well but it's 100% down to the ability of the players. The right quality in personnel and it would be exciting to watch. You can't legislate for missed chances and just a general poor show by Pogs. I think Rom might struggle in this system as he hasn't got the technical ability....
There is going to be no change in tactics though, right? :wenger:

Matic is invisible, and gives us NOTHING offensively at all. What is the point of him right now when we have three centre backs and two wing backs.

Well today he looks off the pace thats for sure. And has slowed our attacks down when we've been playing at a good pace around him.

I wouldnt say he's invisible most of the time. He's usually very active. But today he hasnt been good.

Erm, Lingard and Fred have been running our attack while Lukaku has looked awful out there. If anything he needs to get up to speed (Pogba too of course) and support Lingard more.

Not bad actually. Shaw in particular, but also Lingard and Fred look like bright sparks. I like what Pogba is doing to, he seems quite focused and disciplined.

Only player that will draw criticism for me is Matic. He is looking agonisingly slow, like another Mata but at least with the physicality to hold people off. Lukaku should have finished the first chance and done better than a scuffed shot with the second, but he's been well involved in all our good bits. I feel he'll bury the next one.

Both teams have been sloppy at the back and look nervous to be honest.

I can see the first goal coming from a bad error rather than any great creativity.

Been wanting to see us lineup in a 3-5-2 for a while now, glad to see it in action. We look coherent in attack, like we have an actual game plan in place - press high up the pitch, swamp them at every opportunity with the intent on forcing a mistake - it's working well.

Defensively we look edgy. Having relying on last ditch tackles/blocks on 2 or 3 seperate occasions in that first half does not bode well.

Pogba has been quite good. I don’t know what people are smoking

It was much the same last season. He’s a decent player, but he’s not at the level you need to be a top side. (Edit: Lukaku, that is.)

Pogba has been awful. Strutting around like an asshole and just putting his foot on the ball - Not even pushing on for the counter when he's had the chance, missed an easy chance to lay Lingard in.

Him and Lukaku have killed us. We'd be cruising this shit if they were at it. Alexis would have suited this game as the striker. I'd happily see both them taken off. Fred, Lingard and Shaw have caused them no end of problems but these feckers have let them down. We've actually played pretty well - Pressing high and attacking with pace. Both sides have forced errors.

Some big mistakes at the back - Any long pass has caused problems. No one can deal with Lucas' pace and there's been some poor errors from Jones, Matic and Pogba which should have been punished. Great recovery tackles from Herrera and Smalling and the ref not giving the pen have bailed us out.

De Gea's distribution is one of the biggest problems in the team. Every week it's just getting worse.

That's spot on. Especially the bit about Dave that many ignore.

Neville trying to excuse Lukaku’s miss.

Spurs should have had a penalty according to Carragher.

I wonder whether they will highlight Alli on Ander?

Spurs should have had a penalty. Jones was awful. Had he just carried on running when Moura went by him he'd have been goalside inside three yards as Moura slowed.

I am sorry, but why are we giving credit for the fact they are trying hard. That's the least you expect. It really is desperate if we are going to get excited about well-paid players showing commitment and trying to win a match.

    Good post bro.

Agreed. It's as if it took Bailly and Lindelof's performance last week to remind some posters just how easy Smalling makes it look at times. But that's the sign of a good defender.

    Shaw has done very well.
Lukaku also apart from the chance. He’s held it up well run the channels and brought people into play.
Matic has been poor not only the mistake.
Draw probably fair at half time as that was a stonewall pen for spurs.
Pogba needs to sort his head out. Done some ok things but generally pretty average and when he can’t physically dominate an opponent like dembele he seems to not fancy it so much.

Our weakest link by far is Jones. Give him the ball and you can be sure he will pass it back to DDG. One half and already a penalty incident.

Change Jones with Toby and our build up would be ten times better.

Can't believe there are people giving out in this thread!

This is what I want to be watching from a United side. Yes we've been a bit wasteful with a few players (Lukaku, Matic and Pogba) looking like they're still shaking off a bit of post world cup rust. But we're creating chance after chance against the best defence in the league.

The speed of our play has been great at times and Shaw has looked like a £100m new signing. Fred and Lingard have been superb and aside from the clumsy penalty call, we've been lightyears ahead of last week at the back.

Best I've felt at halftime of a United game in a long, long while.

The difference between us here and against Brighton is stark. Much much better lads keep it up and we'll beat this lot.

Alexis instead of lingard would be nice. Not because lingard was bad but this is formation ideal for alexis. And he loves to score againstvspurs
