Lol yes better than the guy who has 80 caps for Belgium

Yes he is. He can actually control a ball and is comfortable with both feet. The kid has had a few outstanding games including against Liverpool. Fellaini has been poor all season and very much looks like a player who wants out. 80 games for Belgium doesn't mean jack to me.

    That back 4 Jesus..
I'm already feeling the worst. We just lack bravery on all levels. Bravery in terms of lineups, bravery in terms of performances. You just knew it was going to be the same predictable line up.

Same old arguments against Fellaini and yet every manager still rates him. I wonder who’s right...

    Smalling-Jones partnership :nervous:

Anyone have stats on games where they've started together versus other CB partnerships?

Same old arguments against Fellaini and yet every manager still rates him. I wonder who’s right...

Yes he rates him but he still can't find a place for him in a starting 11. He's an overrated backup player who wouldn't start at any other top 6 club.

Look at it another way, Smalling plays well and Kane will continue with his 1 goal in 7 games against United record.

It’s normally really easy for me to see the positive side of things but not with that back four.

The prospect of our two CBs facing Kane after our last game against this lot sends shivers down my spine. Let's see what are they made of.

We'll win this if we can play it out of defence and get players near Lukaku. The worry is that we get hemmed in and start kicking it long with Sanchez/Lingard 30 yards away away from Lukaku.

Rashford would've been great against their high-line.

There are other quality players at our club that are also struggling to make our starting 11...

You are heading into a semi final game at Wembley. Who would you want to manage your team, boring Jose or exciting Poch?

Our defence on paper is the worst of any big side in Europe. Why a club like ours is fielding Chris Smalling and Phil Jones in an FA Cup semi final beyond me. If harry Kane plays well, they win, simple as that.

Since SAF left we have spent over £120m on defenders and yet here we are with none of them making the starting eleven for this match.

Expected team, apart from Jones. Smalling and Jones are a hellish combination, even more confident now we're losing this. That pair will not handle the pressing well at all, panic will set in and we'll concede at least two I reckon.

Feck me,some of the negativity here us depressing to be frank.Using every little thing to show the hate towards the manager is just disappointing.

"I'd also like to remind you that when we had bad times here, the club stood by me, all my staff stood by me, the players stood by me. Your job now is to stand by our new manager. That is important"

Yes we had two bad managers after Fergie and yes Mourinho hasn't been perfect but show some positivity guys. We are second in the league, above Spurs and are about to play a big match, have some faith in the manager

With a three man midfield, plus Sanchez and Lingard popping up between the lines, we should be able to win the midfield battle.

Valencia and Young need to make sure their starting positions are high when we have the ball.

There are plenty of clubs in the Premier League who have conceded more goals, don't think the defence is that bad.

If we lose today it won't be because of Smalling and Jones.

It will be because we barely function as a unit and play awful attacking football. This has been the pattern of all our major losses this season - we haven't scored.

They will again play high press on smalling and jones and it will be long ball after long ball from them. Any news about bailly? Not on the bench even?

Our best hope is to stay in the game and not concede until we can get Martial and Rashford on the pitch and running at their tiring defenders.

The worst thing about Smalling and Jones playing together is there will be a shit load of hoof ball going on.

We're talking about Fellaini though, the apple of Mourinho's eye according to some. He hasn't nailed down a continuous starting berth since Mourinho signed. Why is that especially considering how much Mourinho has tried to get him to sign a new contract? He doesn't see him as a starter, not since his initial spell with Pogba in a horrible two man midfield at the beginning of Mourinho's reign.

Tbh I honestly think that’s the worst back 4 and forward 3 he could have picked. Give or take lukaku.

    Ridiculous team selection.

    Not confident about that defence.

Hopefully the midfield performs & stops Eriksen dictating things. Pogba needs to be at his best.

So I take it you won't be watching then?

No, clearly its you who's having a hard time having to watch players you don't rate week in week out. I rate Smalling higher than any of the other jokers we have at the back and it looks like Mourinho does as well as he's first name on the team sheet even when you think he needs a rest. Bet you were upset when he scored the winner against City and poached one against Bournemouth. More misery as he continues to solidify his starting berth. We need fullbacks this summer but there's no sense bemoaning Young and Valencia's inclusions today. Who would you play instead? Long season is almost over for you.

    Ah I see.
how wise you must think you are

Need to outscore them, simple as that. It's obvious we won't keep a clean sheet with that defense. Out attacking players must be clinical today.
