Lvg finally understood how We love to watch United play - that's what happened.Where did that come from? Out of nowhere we've suddenly become an attacking force again, and it is GLORIOUS.
Not sure how Van Gaal conjured that performance up, but I hope he can keep United playing in this way. Its no secret that I've lost all faith in the guy's ability to win anything at United, I'd love him to prove me wrong though.
The attacking intent shown by our wide players, wingers and full backs, has been very refreshing. Mata has played the #10 role well too, drifting wide to allow Martial and Lingard to come inside without compromising the team's shape.

After Louis van Gaal scores the first goal he lets the opposition on to us because now the opposition have to attack so it's easier to exploit the space behind by being more direct.
This has actually happened all season, how have you not noticed this?
Obviously we usually concede though because dropping off we haven't been the best defending and our play on the counter has been poor but it's his strategy to get the second.

Totally, we are playing the exact opposite of what he spent up to now trying to instill in the team - We are playing a fast paced game, direct passing, quick forward counters, looking free to take chances - I'd honestly say that unless I hadn't seen LVG on the bench, it was a different coach in charge.
If he *has* changed things, fair play to him. If the players are pulling a 'we'll run ourselves' in true French rugby team fashion and are doing this themselves, flair play to them too!
Or maybe Giggs is just a Jonah!

I think it proves what a difference it makes when most of the players are in their correct positions.We've been outstanding. Everything has been better. We've created chances, we've countered, we've had shots, we've had flair, quick tempo, pressed well, etc. At times, Stoke haven't been able to live with us. The two goals, especially Martial's, were fantastic. The build up play for both goals were excellent.
Just want to say I don't think it's a coincidence that we've played at a different level today, though. Carrick, who seems to playing just in front of the back four, with Fellaini and Mata slightly above has been superb. As usual, he's dictating the pace of the game, and because he gets the ball forward so quickly, our attacking players have benefited from it.
Hoping for more of the same in the second half.
Let's hope so.
Maybe Van Gaal has accepted that his philosophy and process are both full of shit, and so decided to go with simple football.
