Well, complete half from start to finish. Finally United took advantage of a red card and absolutely destroyed the opposition.

Goals are flowing in so easily it's just fun to watch. If we keep attacking we should really finish this with at least 7-0.

Should’ve looked at the advantage. Southampton were saved by that whistle. It was a penalty and borderline red card too, because the tackle continued inside the box.

Even if the touch on the foot is adjudged to be outside, there's another hip-to-leg contact well inside the box, so to deem it a clear and obvious error, after having an open goal finish being called back for the penalty, is a bit fecking rich.

Because if he's hardly played any minutes since, you've got feck all to judge him with. It's all well and good complaining he's average in cameos but it's just a strawman argument because he hasn't been given chances.

Got plenty of matches to judge him on, like the most recent display against Liverpool in the FA cup, which was shit.

    Its where it occurred from.

The contact is outside the box and Cavani’s foot then plants and slips onto the line.

VAR correct but he shouldn’t have blown so quickly.

His foot is still treading on his foot during the whole thing though. Every other game this season they talk how shirt pulls that continue into the box are pens? So why not tackles?

I can`t understand, why the ref didn`t give Greenwood the chance to finish, before he gave, what he thought was a penalty. Greenwood had a 100% chance, but it was taken from him.

Don't care if we got a bit of luck with the early red card, we've been dominate and went for their throat. Very happy and would love a few more in the second half.

Ever since Klopp had his little tantrum about our penalty numbers the refs are tying themselves in knots denying them to us now...

Nice relaxing evening, we haven't had one of those for a while. Very enjoyable but I wouldn't blame the players if they eased off in the second half.

I'd take Bruno and Rashford off now, no need to risk them any further. Van de Beek needs minutes anyway and maybe even Martial can grab a goal tonight.

Cavani and Shaw outstanding first halves. Wonderful to see a top class CF in full flow in a United shirt. God dam wish he was a few years younger!

Deans had a mare here. Didn't play advantage and gave the wrong decision (most probably because we're winning)

Brilliant half. Much needed confidence booster.

It's one thing playing against 10 men, and another, battering 10 men.

VAR - another wrong decision. It wasn't a clear and obvious error, was it? It was marginally on the line, so therefore they should go with the on-field referees decision.

If DVB doesnt get some serious minutes in the 2nd half then Ole definitely doesn't rate him. This game is over.

Hope we don’t take our foot of the gas in the second half... let’s bury them!

I hope for this too, goal difference Will come into it at this rate, so we need to work on it and get everyone back to form

The other part says rest Bruno et and get Tony and Donny on. It MAY get Tony into some sort of form if he can get a goal

James could do a job against this set up too if Rashy has a rest

    I want more goals!

I thought it was a free kick but I didn't know that it's a pen if any part of the body is on the line.

Ha! Looks like we the optimists called this one right, red card notwithstanding. There's still the denied pen to boot! Go on lads, let's get that GD up.

1st half couldn't have gone much better for United. 2nd half a clean sheet and a few more goals would be nice. As it stands only Liverpool have scored more goals than United this season.

The red card obviously made a huge difference. That said, I thought we moved the ball really intelligently and probed their back line superbly well. We dragged them left and right, overloaded their fullbacks and some of those crosses were the best I’ve seen I’ve seen us muster all season. Hope we fill our boots second half.

I think credit to the team for taking this to Southampton. Teams are still able to defend relatively well and go on the offense, it is "just" 1 player missing, but Southampton have been made to look like uninspired reserves.

Going to be a tight affair in the second half. Just praying we can hang on and do the business
