Scrappy 1-0 will do.
I expect the next two league matches to be more difficult than the previous games, from here we will need to up our game. Some of the games we have played have been a slow start, followed by a whirlwind 30 min to win the game and a stroll for the last 30, I think it will be harder fight from here on out starting with Southampton.
De GeaEven though we don't really want to change the team, I think Matic could do with a rest for this one so Scott can come in and play.
AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
Bruno McTominay Pogba
Greenwood Martial Rashford
I'd possibly bring Williams in too
3rd and the FA cup would be even better and what we should be aiming for.I think if United win this one and City lose their appeal, we might see quite a changed team for Palace on Thursday, as the FA Cup semi will be the key game then. 3rd would be nice, but 5th and a FA Cup is a far nicer achievement. We should be trying to win every match, but not sure the best way to do that is to play the same XI every week twice a week, even with five subs.
5 games in 14 days is a tough ask. I’m not arguing for heavy rotation for the sake of it, but just making sure our best team is prime next Sunday.3rd and the FA cup would be even better and what we should be aiming for.
United have looked the fittest team since the restart, the simple fact is we are probably not training at full intensity as the games are keeping the fitness up, all that's needed is conditioning between games.
Play the best team available at the start of every game, then take them off early if ahead and comfortable.
Certainly I'll be more than happy with that.Scrappy 1-0 will do.
I somehow feel we aren't the scrappy type with this time. More like Scrappy Doo.Scrappy 1-0 will do.
Sheffield Utd?I know I am risking the “first real test” joke, but Southampton is the first decent team we’ll play since the games resumed.
Sheffield Utd?
I highly doubt it. We have very composed attackers in every position. Its not the case were lingard and james are playing. Pogba is also back which wasnt the case in those games we dropped.I do think this game could be a potential banana skin. Our confidence is sky high and top 4 is now within our grasp, could create a nervous situation if we don't start well.
Southampton have a genuine goal scorer and our defence is pretty shaky at the best of times. If Matic and Pogba continue to take control of the midfield so that our defence has less to do, we'll be fine.
You forgetting that Chelsea et al all have the same amount of games in the same amount of time???5 games in 14 days is a tough ask. I’m not arguing for heavy rotation for the sake of it, but just making sure our best team is prime next Sunday.
I know I am risking the “first real test” joke, but Southampton is the first decent team we’ll play since the games resumed. We’ll have to start this game strong or it will become hard work. I hope there’s no tiredness or complacency .
I was talking about what I actually saw and not the reputation. Chris Wilder himself admitted that Sheff United weren’t playing well at the restart. That’s a ridiculous statement to make, Sheff Utd and Spurs (despite everything), are two decent sides.
Anything can happen in the PL. but we are in great form. Let’s enjoy the ride.
Sure but the fact remains that’s Utd punished Sheff Utd in outstanding fashion, something this Chelsea team don’t seem capable of.I was talking about what I actually saw and not the reputation. Chris Wilder himself admitted that Sheff United weren’t playing well at the restart.
What’s that got to do with our team selections? You don’t run your own team into the ground because your opponents also have a busy schedule. You forgetting that Chelsea et al all have the same amount of games in the same amount of time???
