    Is it really a surprise we're terrible going forward though?
    • We have Mata who is past his best, also a 10 playing on the wing without pace.
    • Lingard who is a middle table player.
    • A Championship 20 year old in Rashford
    • Mkh who is completely shite.
    • Lukaku who offers nothing to the team or play most games when he's not scoring.
    You can call it knee jerking or over reacting but it's not. I've watched enough football in my life time to know when players are good or bad.
     
    Pawson what a clown of a refree, the cnut must be proud of that performance.
    Dont understand the boos, Mourinho isnt going to score headers from managers area, rashford, Lingard and Lukaku should have scored all 3, Mourinho is right to cry over the lack of investment as frankly most of our players are very shit.

    Really boring half. Why do we always cross when we have 2 playmakers and 2 runners? The tactic is absolutely rubbish.

    Mkhitaryan is the worst attacking player we've signed in years. Absolute shite.

    Dortmund fans were telling us he was Messi mixed with Cruyff. He's like a mime mixed with a catatonic. So shit.

    I'm not sure it was. Looks like Yoshida is pulling his hand away. He's not making a deliberate motion towards the ball with his hand. They've definitely been given before, and referees often apply their own discretion with "unnatural positions" and whatnot, but if it was given it would be a bit harsh IMO.

    But Foy's right. The rules say it has to be deliberate. But like the majority of rules, they're applied inconsistently.
     
    Wish they are loud as when they boo/moan and do their job supporting, guess stewards and them being forced to sit down isnt big of an issue when its boo/moan time.

    This is a very poor Southampton side, yet we go in at 0-0 at half time without causing their keeper any real problems.

    Mkhitaryan needs to come off. What a fraud.

    Positives are Shaw, Mata, Lingard and Pogba.
     
    Very dire half. Pogba has been very poor again. The tactics and team chemistry is off as we have seen last few games so nothing new. As a team we are just totally out of form and without both confidence and tactics to turn it around at the moment.
     
    We really need to bring in a few players here in January or we could end up regretting it big time later in the season. The Attackers we have on the field today are all mediocre and it is showing.
     
    Controlled the game for the most part but our attacking play is once again lacking, wouldn't mind seeing Mata and Mkhi switch sides tbh, I know we like our inverted forwards/wingers but I'd just try them on the left and right respectively to see if it changed anything. We have actually put in 4/5 really good crosses this half but either fluffed the finish or not had anyone on the end of it.
     
    Created 2 chances all game. Other than that, slow, uninspired, lethargic, uncreative.
     
    Been decent in spells, but we've not been able to put a wave of attacks together.

    We need to gain full control of the game and push Southampton back.

    Think if anything going to come, it'll be down the left with Shaw and Mkhi.

    Does anyone actually doubt him? Pretty sure every acknowledges he is quality. Maybe just lacking stamping his authority on games. Isn’t helped by some of the poor displays around him and in general Just how we play.
     
    Re: the handball. Definite penalty. He moves his arm to the ball. Unatural movement. Ref likely to cost us in this game.
     
    We should’ve saved the 400-500 million we’ve spent on players since 2013, and invested it in life extending technology to keep Fergie in his prime for another 20 years.

    A more probable return on investment.
     
    Frustrating first half.

    *Pogba is fantastic. So glad he's a United player

    *Glad Lukaku is okay, I expect a better second half as tactically we can change to adapt to Rashford

    *Miki is a good player but don't think he's mentally cut out to be a United player. He relies too much on confidence when at this club you are expected to be on it every game

    *We would score more goals had we signed Perisic who's crossing is exceptional. Only Young is of the desired standard in this current set up.
     
    I can't respect referees. Not the handball thing. More the timekeeping and time wasting part.
