As much as I'd love to see Pogba start tomorrow - is anyone psyched for the game regardless? Mourinho has brought a swagger back already, I feel we can give teams a right battering if we click. That just would not have happened under LvG.

Absolutely. At least Mourinho is always going for the jugular. It's exciting.

I think Pogba will start. Record fee, training for 2 weeks, at home, played players in lesser condition to start the season, it all points to Pogba getting the nod.

Lingard probably not 100% so I wouldn't expect him back. I don't think Smalling walks right into the Bailly/Blind partnership just yet. Lot of tough choices with the lineup prediction this week.

Was Puel the clown who brought the Lille players off the pitch after that Giggs free kick years ago? Or was it some bald assistant of his. Memory is very hazy on that one. Either way it was a shit move from the club.

What a horrible decision to put this game on a Friday. Good thing technology has advance far enough so that I can watch this game on my mobile device.

Nevertheless, looking forward to Pogba debuts.

Pogba will start on the bench and get the big roar when he steps onto the pitch for the second time :drool::drool:

if Pogba is fit and ready he should start. Him coming on as a sub will bring forward the biggest roar and pretty sure that's what it's going to be. Sub tomorrow.

By the way Mourinho answered the question about Fonte/Puel, I would guess there's not much sympathy between the two managers, besides Puel being a friend of Wenger. Mourinho might just want to crush them a bit, which is fine by me.

I think we'll go with the same lineup as vs Bournemouth. Pogba getting some minutes in the 2nd half.

When Pogba comes off the bench I'm going to have goose bumps  I'm also going to be slightly buzzed.

Should be pretty much the same line-up as on Sunday. The only question mark is who will start alongside the hairy midfield general, Carrick or Herrera?

Thinking the same, but then I went into the Herrera thread and was reminded by his performance (GNeville thought he was MOTM) so I edited my line-up prediction once again and put Herrera in there instead of Carrick.

Really really buzzed about this game. So happy we're not facing Mane!

Was hoping Mika might get a nod but after that Mata performace it would be harsh not to start him. I do hope Pogba starts but will wait and see.

Although I always look forward to United games, this season breathes a breath of fresh air.
I've been looking forward to this match all week and it can't come soon enough. After a few difficult seasons I actually feel we've
    • Appointed the right manager
    • Signed the right players
    • Added some much needed big personalities to the squad
With this anticipation and expectation though comes a bit of worry . I expect us to beat Southampton quite comfortably (2-0 (For some reason it won't let me predict a scoreline)), but I just fear a bad result will bring all this expectation crashing down.

Right now I think we have good depth, something we've lacked. The bench will look strong, which has been a worry for the last few seasons.

I feel Ibra's drive and passion on the pitch is so important. It sets an example for others. No more passengers, no more hiding, handle your area of the pitch.

I just lied about the time of my doctor's appointment tomorrow so that I wouldn't miss the match because my grandparents wanted to treat me to a late lunch.

I think I might be going to hell...

LOL are you based in the Americas somehow? Don't worry, nobody goes to hell just for football :).

Yeah, Central Standard Time. Or actually I think it's Central Daylight Time now. I've missed many a half with daylight savings time changes...

I'm looking forward to it. Smash them 4-0 then chill out watching the rest on the weekend.

One of the most important game of Sports history is at the same time.

I hope Mkit starts or comes on for the full second half. It won't be good for his confidence if he sees Pogba get a lot of minutes on his debut, over Mkit's cameo substitutions so far. Mkit has been involved since the start of preseason and, given his pedigree, deserves a chance to impress at OT tomorrow.

Anyone noticed how Mourinho indicated last week there were no injuries and then, after the game, told us Bailly didn't train all week?
Yeah he's sneaky. Reckon that won't be the last time he pulls the wool over the media's eyes. Which I'm fine with.

4am start for me and a really busy Saturday ahead. I think I will just watch the highlights about 7am.

Should be pretty much the same line-up as on Sunday. The only question mark is who will start alongside the hairy midfield general, Carrick or Herrera?
I think there's actually a serious shout for Herrera, which I would have never thought I'd say even three weeks ago, but he was quite impressive as the deepest midfielder against Bournemouth. Maybe Mourinho sees him as Carrick's possible replacement?

    DDG
    Valencia Bailly Blind Shaw
    Herrera Fellaini
    Mata Rooney Martial
    Ibra

    Mk, Pogba and Rashford

Wish pogba and Mk would start though.

We should not focus only on Pogba. We have a game to win an we have answer to get here.

Will Bailly continue his good form ? Same for Valencia ?

Will Fellaini and Ander will play together again ? Is this means that Carrick is not fit already and what about Schneiderlin ? One of them will be in the stands tonight

What about Martial's form on the left wing ? He only played 4 games during pre season and needs to be fit.

    What about Rooney's performance ?

Up at 6.30am only means one thing, it's Match Day get in.

I'm leaving at 1pm to get there and won't be back home till Saturday but will be worth it hopefully. Come on United!

You need to be realistic. We are going to get some shock/bad results along the way. Why should it bring everything crashing down? I'd be as gutted as the next man but not worried. Things already look more promising so we just have to be patient. I wouldn't be too upset if we didn't win anything this year (so long as City or Liverpool don't win the title) as long as the football is improving and entertaining.
