Not when you want to give your keeper confidence. The worst thing he could do is acknowledge that De Gea has been struggling assuming he's going to keep starting him. "If" Romero were to get a start in the league then he might answer a little different but I still doubt it...

if we don’t win today I might just pack it in. I’m leaving work early and I’ve been looking forward to this game since Monday. We just need to win and do it in a convincing way. I think any starting 11 will do as long as our front 3 is rashford, martial and either greenwood/mata. Don’t think I can stomach another game of James running into dead ends while also blocking AWB running into space.

He could have just said David is not at the top of his game right now, but he knows what he needs to do to get back there, and he's working hard with the coaches to do so, he's fine, i've no worries with David whatsoever.
