This difference is a 0-0 would see them go through rather than extra time and penalties.

So don't see how 2-1 is better than 0-0 away from home.

Oh I agree on you. 0-0 is better than 2-1. I'm disagreeing with that poster who sees 2-1 loss is better.

We have to push them out of the way completely. No if's and but's - They've been schooled at home to teams at our level, which means we've showed them far to much respect.

If we play with intensity, determination and focus, they should never be a match for us. We have to kill them.

Won 4 of our last 5, 2 big game wins to all but seal 2nd place for us, an away draw in the champions league (very much what we set out for on the night) the only exception, and 2 comeback wins in there.. yeah I'd say that's excellent form and full of confidence

Fact is neither are good results to be honest

0-0 is a decent result, not the best but decent. You need any kind of win to pass, while the opposition won't play a defensive block and will also come out to try and score.

I have a bad feeling, to be honest, and this thread is all about sharing our feelings, right? ;)

Most important match this season so far imo. Of course we are not something like a favourite to win this tournament, but if you want to be a big club you should show up in the last 8 from time to time, better in the last 4. And if you do so, anything can happen. (Chelsea 2012).

Sevilla is a team that attacks better than they defend and that will cost them the match. I saw their game against Valencia and pretty much sums it up: Sevilla dominated and created more chances, but were sloppy on defence and Valencia wrapped the 3 points.

We played relatively well only in three halves of the last games, Chelsea, Palace and Liverpool. Confidence because we're a solid team who gets results, yes. Proud of our excellent form because we're playing well attacking, no way.

Sevilla will press high and try to attack any chance they get. Its the only way they know. That being said Rashford must start. His pace and ability to get in behind a high line would probably win this match.

Imagine if we played well in 6 halves of the last games..

This is one of the reasons I've always thought 0-0 away from home is an overrated result. Rather lose the first leg 2-1 or get a score draw. Unless we go 2-0 up early, it's going to be nervy night.

Hate that I'm not confident, even though I think I have enough reason to be. Wish I had some of you guys/ladies confidence!
Hoping for a 2-0 win. If i'm being honest, I'm trusting Jose's experience here more than the players themselves to do the job, even though, when it comes down to it, its the players mainly.

Oh Gosh, this nonsense starts again.

There is no result that qualifies us with 2-1 that doesn't also qualifies us with 0-0. The other way around doesn't hold.

Not sure at all they'll play a high line, very much doubt it. They know how to sit back if needed.

    and again, that's complete bullshit.

The whole "losing 2-1" away from home being better than a "0-0" draw is about as dumb as it gets. However I try to understand that POV, it makes even little sense to me.

We need to make sure we have 2 goals before the last 15 minutes.

They'll throw the kitchen sink at us, and if we let 1 in we are in trouble. Having the practise of Liverpool the weekend before though will put us in good stead, we should be more then ready for this lot.

Like when a commentator says, ‘that goal doesn’t really change anything’. How can a goal not change anything!!? Of course it does!

The only way I see it is that losing the first match encourages you to attack more than a 0-0 would.

Apparently the correct stat is - 70% of teams who draw 0-0 away end up going through in the home game return.

So we should win comfortably and have nothing to worry about. Cool.

Completely agree. Just can't buy into that viewpoint at all.

Assume Lingard will start this game considering he barely had 10 minutes against Liverpool. Though Mata's done ok, I think Jose will favor Lingard for this one as he can score a direct goal anytime.

United never lost a single PL or CL match with him in the starting XI.

Right so now you've made me even more nervous as this will obviously happen soon, given he hasn't been very good. Plus presumably he played in our shite out vs Bristol City in the CC, making this one of those 'technical' stats?

Pogba replacing McTominay as the only change tonight is doing the rounds, pretty sensible if true

Miguel Delaney tweeted that same team as Saturday except Pogba in for McTominay.

I'm working this evening so won't see a minute of it live. Tonight's massive, far bigger than last Saturday was. I'm confident Mourinho will figure out a way to win this game, they're no great shakes. Good luck to us all, hopefully tonight when I'm watching the game back I'll be doing so with a smile on my face

What we did to Crystal Palace in the second half is precisely how we need to start this game.

If we sit back then it will be a nervy game. We have to stick it at them from the word go. 3-1 United
