Pretty boring, fairly nervous. Lukaku playing well, Sanchez really not bedding in too well is he?

Can't understand why Rash needs to play on the right. Get Sanchez off or let him play down the middle or right.
Lets be honest Sanchez is too slow for the right wing now. His legs aren't what they used to be.

He can still use his balance well but he just looks lost at the moment.

I spend every day of my life in the real world sticking up for us in the great ‘brand of football’ debate - but we do look miles away from a top side. The lack of comfort on the ball is telling. A decent Spanish side in Seville are passing and moving far better, and we still have a ways to go.

I’ve actually felt quite down watching that performance.

This constant need to change up the formations is doing my head in. Make Rashford that left side his own, let Sanchez roam and put Lingard on the right or the other way around. Just keep it consistent ffs.
Yup! Rashford motm vs Liverpool.. just fecking keep it the same? Why change everyone in that 3 around? Just to put Lingard at the 10? Makes no sense

What the hell is the deal with Sanchez? I've been defending him ever since he got here but he has been loosing the ball at Martial rate levels so far.

The state of this thread.

You can see what Mourinho is trying to do here. We look overrun in midfield because we're bypassing it. We are winning headers and second balls everytime we send a long ball into their half (specifically to Fellaini who's been clearly asked to stay forward), and someone like Sanchez/Lingard is running at their box. We haven't scored, however, despite creating good chances, and I wonder at what point will Mourinho say, I gotta change things.

We could have had luck with that Lukaku chance, or the Fellaini chance. I think our set pieces have been poor though. We should be doing better.

Fellaini will not be able to do the little tracking back he's doing now 20 minutes into the second half. I guess that's when Pogba will come on.

Did Saturday really happen? Why have we been told not to press this mob?not going for the jugular against an average Sevilla is really poor tactical selction, yes they can pass the ball around but they can't really hurt us.Just fecking go up a couple of gears and press much higher up the pitch and we'll get a couple of goals.Fecking simple really.

This is the game where Fellaini finally puts down his doubters. I was still in doubt of whether letting him go was the right choice.

So which half do we play better in now, the first or the second? I'm confused after the weekend

Just swapping Rashford and Sanchez would make a big difference IMO. Sanchez more likely to go on the outside, and Rashford goes back to his best position. I'd then bring Pogba pn for Lingard, so we have a proper playmaker through the middle.

Sevilla are well organized, this is going to be no walk in the park for us I fear and we will need a moment of brilliance to force a mistake unless we are less cautious second half and go for it.

I honestly don't think they've been that impressive. Fairly limited in ideas when it comes to finishing - we've just not really taken the game to them either.

Our passing has been really, really bad, which isn't surprising when our buildup play predominately consists of hitting long balls up to Lukaku/Fellaini. This appears to be a deliberate tactic, but has also been forced on us somewhat anyway because we're outnumbered in midfield, again.

Overall though, it's a much more even game than the first leg. 50-50 at this point as to who goes through.

Garbage. Is Sanchez the new Mkhi? Constantly shit and constantly in the team.

Take him off. It'll probably get a bigger cheer than any of the football

We might go on and win this gama and I'll be glad. But I'm not having anyone tell me this is the only way to go about it.
We could play these lot off the park if we attempted to. We have the players.
Unfortunately we don't have the manager for that.

Someone needs to run at banega as he is a second yellow waiting to happen. Montella wont take him off as he is their chief playmaker. We can seriously gain an advantage here.
I also cant believe us not having more long shots, Rico isnt great with long shots, we need to test him a lot more.

No off the ball movement from anyone but Lingard. Fellaini goes ahead when we get the ball leaving the midfield thin.

If we play like this against a side who are hanging on 5th place in La Liga and managed to concede 5 against Atletico, imagine us against proper sides like Barca? Shocking half, same tactics like in away leg, defend and hope they score own goal or something.

I don't get why Mourinho would change, though. We've looked to have a good balance in a 4231 of late, with Rashford on the left and Mata on the right. Not sure why he's trying to complicate things.

He does tend to have a specific gameplan for these kind of games, I suppose.

I expect some early subs, however. I really don’t think we want to be sitting on a one goal lead, should we get it.

We're really lucky not to be behind in the tie. Second best for 135 minutes so far.

Sanchez looks even worse than he did for the first half of the season.
Roughly how many millions in wages has he earned since he arrived?

Scholes not a member of the cafe he had nothing positive to say.

Please bring on Mata for Sanchez, we need someone who can control the ball and is calm.

Fellaini hasn't been bad but we're so reliant on just chucking the ball to him that we end up attacking with one or 2 players and there's no flow to our attack. Sanchez has no space and is just forcing things atm.

It is not the system, and not really the players. It is all in the approach to the game.

We were a bit better in the last fifteen minutes of the half but dear me it wasn't good before that.

Matic our best player that half.

Its a typical “fecking hell Fellaini is shit” match.

Lumbering around, contributing absolutely nothing to the game in either direction.

The gamble is though, do you leep him on and hope he gets a tap in becuase he is 20 yards ahead of the players that are actually up front instead of where he should be, at the risk of him continuing to be complete dogshit for the rest of the game.

Or, do you take him off and ensure that the overall play will vastly improve and hope that results in some goals.
