    Risky

I was hoping to see a rotated squad for tonight's game and the return league against Forrest

Maguire stealing a living as club captain again. Why not just give it to Bruno ffs? He has to be the least worthy United captain I can remember. You got Ronaldo, Casemiro, Varane, Bruno, DDG on the pitch and this guy wears the armband. I wouldn't mind so much if he did the post matches when we feck up.
Boy do i got some news for you.

This will be an unpopular opinion, but I can understand the "non-resting" lineup. Most of I key players WERE actually rested recently. They were subbed and Eriksen never plays 90mins. Casemiro had an unplanned rest too. DDG does not really need to be rested. The likes of Antony need a good run of games. And it is the fecking FA cup. We have some history of fecking up the cup by using rest FC. My only complain is Garnacho instead of our key player Rashford.

Reading at Old Trafford is also a freebie. We have games every weekend and midweek for the next month. At the end of this run is Barca twice, and Newcastle in the cup final. To get us tired out in easy games is just stupid/negligence tbh.

It's something he'll learn from, whatever. I hope he tosses the Europa League in the trash and ignores it. Because we need to be at full fitness to beat Newcastle in the cup as I'd actually be pissed off if we lost that.

You actually get the opposite problem if you just rest everyone for 10 days or so. They'll lose their sharpness and match fitness.

Start strong today, get a couple of goals up, start rotating 65 onwards.
Rest heavily midweek, then go from there.

I guess Ten Hag thinks he can rest players against Forest so rather give them a run out now

Guys, you do realise our next match is one at home in a tie we lead 3-0? If we're going to rest players in either match, that would surely be the one you pick.

You can't reason with people without sense.

    Give over

There’s some truth to it, maybe not so dramatic.. but garnacho is without a doubt good enough to start today. With the games we got later in the month (the two Barca ties and the final) why not rotate these next few games before the season defining fixtures come. We got a game every 3 days towards the end of feb and massive games. February fixtures are crazy.

    Silly line up.
Garnacho and Pellistri should have started, use the squad for once.
We play at Old Trafford against a team that is 16th place in the championship ffs.
Hope we dont get any injuries

Can't say I'm in love with the starting XI. However, I guess the manager is thinking that he needs to get the job done tonight and avoid a replay clogging up our fixture list.

We can't take Forest lightly though. Still need to manage the second leg to be sure of progressing. I'd have played half the starters tonight and half on Wednesday. I hope we don't go too weak midweek.

I don't care what are they saying. As I said he did rotate, Mainoo started 2 games for instance among other things.

Disagree. The only game he has rotated in is the Charlton cup game. Other than that he’s played a near enough full strength XI in the others & hasn’t rotated much or in fact hardly. Therefore it’s unsurprising he has decided to play a strong XI again tonight.

Mainoo has only started one game which was that Charlton cup game. No idea which other game you are saying he started in?

Our next premier league game is a week away at home to Palace. Resting not too vital

Ajax fans said he barely ever rotated unless he absolutely had to.

Yeah, I remember reading that, didn't think it would be this extreme. I hope players don't burn out and that it works out in the end. The demands over here, imo, are bigger than in the Eredivisie, especially this season and with our schedule

I think eth sees this one as an opportunity to integrate Wout better with the first team.

Bring them on as subs to keep them fresh with 30 mins per game in their legs against tired players rather than overloading them just seems much more logical. And a week to 1.5 weeks in between games has never been problematic. 2 weeks sure, but we are playing every 3 days... We will be destroyed by the time the cup final comes around unless we discard the Europa League, which given it is Barcelona we are playing .. seems unlikely.

Fecking hell this place will never change.
Resting will happen next game and hopefully immediate after we get a few goals.

I guarantee this place loses its shite if he heavily rotated and we were 2 or 3 down by half time or something and our big guns couldn't get us back in it second half.

Better this and the main players get a rest for a week till after the Forest game.

Casemiro didn't play v Arsenal, he's already been rested.

He believes in winning every game and taking each game as it comes. Thank feck he is in charge.
Against a bottom half championship team? Any of our players in or around the first team should at least be on their level wouldn't you think? That gives him a lot more choice than simply playing your best players. Rotation is crucial this part of the season.

Even if he wanted to put out a strong team, would have preferred some starting game time for Garnacho or Pellistri

Was expecting more rotation, yet can see the point of winning the match in the first half and making key subs early. The likes of Antony, Wout and AWB need the key players to develop their game with the team.

He rotated in Villa game in league cup too. Those are games in which he could rotate anyway. You can't do it in the league and I guess we'll rotate on Wednesday too.

I mean the other thing that people aren't appreciating here is that if we rotate here and draw the game, we have yet another fixture to contend with in the replay and that would be played away from home.

If the team isn't rotated mid-week against Forest I will be somewhat concerned, but I think there's considerable logic in going fairly strong from the start tonight. If we succeed in killing the game by half time we can substitute some of the first team and then give them the game off against Forest.
