    Manchester United team
Starting XI: Romero, Dalot, Darmian, Jones, Young (c), McTominay, Fred, Andreas, Mata, Lukaku, Alexis
Subs: Grant, Lindelof, Fellaini, Garner, Chong, Martial, Rashford

    Reading team
Starting XI: Jaakkola, Yiadom, Ilori, Moore (c), Richards, Kelly, Rinomhota, McCleary, Swift, Harriott, Loader
Subs: Walker, Gunter, O'Shea, Aluko, Barrow, Meite, East

Just nine changes from the victory against Newcastle with Romero, Dalot, Darmian, Young, McTominay, Fred, Andreas, Lukaku and Alexis coming in for De Gea, Valencia, Lindelof, Shaw, Herrera, Matic, Pogba, Rashford and Martial.
Let's go in with a 2 goal lead and bring the lads on for the second half.

Pretty much what I expected bar McTominay over Fellaini. I guess Fellaini's injury was worse than Scott's and he isn't as close to 100%

McTominay deserves a go under Ole after being promoted as a senior player by Jose.

Hopefully he’s anchoring midfield, let’s see what he can do there.

This has probably been answered but where is gomes? Was joping he would start but not even a sub... injured?

I guess that team is fine but it seems low risk to me. If chong and co cannot get in the team for a home game against lower opposition, when can they? Hope Chong is on at half time.

I wouldnt say it’s low risk. If we were to go out it would be very embarrasing as it represents our only realistic trophy oppertunity this season.

Strong team to hopefully go 2 or 3 up and then bring on Garner and/or Chong

I cry every time I see Phil Jones' name on our team sheet. But otherwise the team is fine. Would have maybe liked to see Garner or Chong start though.

Nice lineup, though i hope this doesn't mean that Young is seen as second choice behind Valencia (though I would doubt this is the case)

Good team except for McTominay and Mata. Fellaini is done as many of us have said already.

How can Alexis and Lukaku get any form playing with donkeys like McTominay and Darmian. There is an agenda against them by the manager.

Oops, that only works with Martial on here, my mistake

Slightly disappointed not to see Angel Gomes anywhere near the squad... is he injured?

    —Darmian--Jones
    Dalot——McT——-Young
    ——Fred—-Pereira
    ————mata
    ——Lukaku-Alexis

Jose's awful rotation left too many first teamers with little game time. Ole has to satisfy them before giving youth a go. It's not an easy task

You would swear we where playing Salford with the clamour of some here to play so many youth players at once.

When they are ready. Do you think these young guys are at the point where they should be pushing for places in the squad and starting line up week in, week out? If not, it’s very hard to justify playing them ahead of the likes of Mata, Fred, Pereira, Lukaku and Sanchez - the first team squad players who could do with the game time.

Some people just live in a fantasy/FM world, threads like "Ole for DoF" just proves it.

Reading have gone with their best team. Think this might be a little tough considering our makeshift defence and midfield.

Let’s all get on McTominay, booo, get out of my club, etc.

If you want to boo someone then boo the manager who’s picking him. It’s not the lads fault. He’s a completely nothing player though.

If McTominay was five foot ten then we probably wouldn’t have even seen him in the first team.

Darmian/Jones CB pairing?! I wouldn't say I'm worried as they should be good enough for this but it looks a bit weird.

Also an inexperienced midfield, I thought he might sneak Pogba or Matic in but obviously I'm made up the latter is finally getting a rest.

Also where's Greenwood? Gutted he hasn't made it for this one lel

Good mixed team , for Reading it is perfect, dont get the need to throw the youngsters in straightaway, ease them in , they will get their chance.
    We will see Chong today.
Realisticly the FA Cup is our only chance of winning something this season, you have to pick a strong team.

    Fecking McTominay.
    Sakes.

Looking forward to seeing Pereira and Dalot, and hoping Chong and Garner get minutes off the bench. Finally, so much for Greenwood getting ready for this game......weird, that.

    4-0 United. Cmon lads!!

Not exactly brimming with confidence for this one. Hope I’m wrong. Expecting a performance we regularly got under previous managers when we made a lot of changes. Players rusty, unfamiliar with one another, players trying too hard to impress... we’ll see.
