Solskjaer has been savvy with his team selection
You can see the logic in Solskjaer starting with a strong squad tonight when victory will secure qualification. United’s next game is in Astana at the end of November, which is five hours ahead of Manchester and will involve a lengthy flight. That is terrible preparation for a Sunday game and United are better served trying to secure progress to the knockout rounds tonight and then resting some of their stars for the torturous trip to Kazakhstan.

A new name for some i'd guess but hope if we are comfortable with 10 minutes to go Ole throws Jesse Lingard on, trust me this kid is gonna be a star

I've seen a lot of him in the youth team, and he's certainly a precocious talent. He's bursting with energy and has a real eye for goal. This Jesse kid really needs a good run of games to show what he can do in the first team.

Why is he playing a main lineup against fecking Partizan at home with an important game coming on Sunday?

We could pretty much guarantee qualification tonight yet I will not put it past Ole taking his first choice squad to Kazakhstan.

The international announcements don't reflect well on United
On the topic of the international break, Lindelof, McTominay, Rashford, Maguire, James and Rojo are the only players heading away for senior international duty for their nations, which is an incredibly low amount, given United tend to have the most representatives at major tournaments.

Solskjaer will view that as a plus but Pereira and Fred, recent regulars, have been overlooked by Brazil in favour of Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa and Lucas Paqueta of AC Milan. It does not reflect favourably on United, or their midfield malaise.

Disappointed that Big Phil Jones is left to rot once again. Hell, put him at RB and maybe give AWB a rest, considering he looks dead on his feet recently....

I know but even if we do the business tonight, I will not be stunned if he takes them to Kazakhstan for a meaningless game.

It’s like rushing Pogba back so he could play against Rochdale
Then he will have no excuses if they struggle in the following league game. He keeps bigging up the kids, well use them then.

9/11 ....i feel that's not bad considering the circumstances.

Think Ole had a tough choice to make and has probably picked the right one. Win this and the next two games in the EL are irrelevant.

Fatigue might be an issue at the weekend though :nervous:. A first half blitz tonight would be ideal.

    Partizan Belgrade line up
Stojkovic, Pavlovic, Natcho, Sadiq, Asano, Zdjelar, Šćekić, Soumah, Ostojić, Urošević, N. Miletić

Subs: Stevanovic, Vujacic, Tosic, Ivanovic, Brezancic, Lutovac, F Stevanovic

    Yes! We go for it!

Hopefully we get qualification sorted today. A good performance and a few goals would also be nice.

Truth be told, I think quite a few of them would love to have a few days ' off ' in a fairly exotic place knowing that the result was not crucial and so were unlikely to play because it is preferable to having to go into Carrington and train for those three or four days.

Generally speaking, if you're not good enough for your country, you're not good enough for United.

England team in particular used to be dominated by United lads.

So who is going to hook me up with a lovely river? PM please...

What's so important about Brighton at home and how is it more important than Partizan?

We are in 10th in the league. Of course any game in the league at our current state is more important than a game in a group we have 7 points in already.
