Can't wrap my head around folks wanting us to lose against Newcastle so that it leads to Mourinho's inevitable demise. Pretty sure even if we get top 4, Mou would be sacked, he has lost the dressing room no coming back from that.
Surely we would have to be devastatingly bad to lose to Newcastle. If that happened the you know what would hit the proverbial fan.

Mourinho will go for a pragmatic radical 343 with A Valencia dropped completely because of him liking Mourinho to be sacked Post .

    D De Gea

    E Baily
    N Matic
    C Smalling

    A Young
    P Pogba or Fred
    M Feillani
    L Shaw

    M Rashford
    R Lukaku
    A Martial

Matic will play as the Sweeper which will play into Newcastle hands he has no pace but he will be told to command the defence and push them higher up the pitch!

It's gonna be a 0-0 draw with Newcastle having most of the possession, just about. Shelvey will boss our midfield, we'll have 1 x shot on target in each half, but neither coming close to beating their keeper.

OT will be silent, with a sprinkling of boos at full time.

Jose will deliver a barbed post-match interview.

Heading over for the game tomorrow. Always love getting to old trafford. Even though things aren’t good with us at the moment I’m hoping for the best and will be singing the lads on.
Would love to see dalot and pereira getting a game and Sanchez on the right again.

    I would play this

    De Gea
    Dalot Smalling Bailly Shaw
    Fred Perreira Pogba
    Mata Greenwood Martial
    Not going to happen obviously.

    Would love to see this, shackles off;

    ................DDG................
    Dalot..Bailly.....Smalling..Shaw
    ..............Matic.................
    .......Fred........Pogba........
    .............Sanchez............
    ..Rashford.........Martial.....

    One day, we’ll see this!!

This is my perfect line up as well. Everyone who has been under performing has not been helped with the formations Jose plays. This is perfect.

One of the polls on Talksport at the moment is
Which is the least attractive game of the weekend
    1. Burnley v. Huddersfield
    2. Manchester United v. Newcastle United.

    :(:(:(

    I picked

    De Gea
    Young Bailly Smalling Shaw
    Fellaini Pogba Matic
    Rashford Lukaku Sanchez
let me tell you, nothing dampers the spirit like predicting that we will go with that midfield again. And I picked Young because we all must be thinking there is no way in hell Mou goes with Valencia, but he will troll us yet again with a start for Young. Just hoping for a spot on the bench for Dalot and not Darmian.

Listening to a show this morning and they were doing predictions. Every teams position was given in reference to United. It was a very obvious and deliberate piss take.

Probably won't happen indeed but I refuse to believe this side isn't capable of winning with Newcastle at their current state... even with Mata as a winger.

If Greenwood will have problems then Martial can easily take his place as a main sting and if Mou will give him much freedom of movement all four - Mata, Pogba, Fred, Andreas should be able to create for him some chances.

In a way that is why I am so unhappy. We are the butt of everyone's jokes. They are taking the p*ss all the time. I turned them off this morning before Noel Gallagher could even utter a word. They are all loving this.

We'll be back stronger than ever.

We'll scrape a 1-0 win and Mourinho will hang on to his job for a few more weeks.

another dull game 1-1, 1-0 or 2-1. Unless we get off to a flier i can see it being a nervous affair.

It will be a mourinho masterclass team

    de gea

    valencia smalling bailly shaw
    matic mctominay fellaini
    mata lukaku rashford

    bench- pogba, martial, lindelof,romero,darmian,sanchez,fred

Expect Newcastle to defend well and try to frustrate us.

    My team would be:

    ------------------De Gea-----------------

    Dalot ---- Bailly ------Smalling ----Shaw

    -------Pogba ----- Perreira ----Fred------

    Rashford ------Sanchez ----------Martial

Play with technical players who have energy in their legs and see how it goes. Newcastle are going to park the bus so let's press them and force them into mistakes. There has to come a point where Lukaku and Matic get dropped for their poor form, otherwise they will get away with the laborious so far this season. Get them on the bench and hungry to come on in the second half and make an impact.

I would like to see team given above given a chance although I think Jose will play.

    --------------------------De Gea
    --------------Dalot---Bailly---Smalling---Shaw
    -----------------------Matic---Fellaini
    ----------------------------Pogba
    -------------------Sanchez---Lukaku---Rashford

I think it will be close. Newcastle may have had a terrible start to the season but only lost by 1 goal to both City and Chelsea. So I think we might edge it 2-1.

    De Gea
    Dalot lindelof Smalling Shaw
    Fred Matic Pogba
    Fellaini
    Sanchez Martial

    :lol::lol:

I predicted a loss for us as I'm rubbish at it and hope I'm wrong as usual.

So embarrassing at work today, all opposition fans in the office expect us to lose, and the worst thing was they weren't joking:(

We need to win this one guys.
If only to get some confidence back in our team.
After the International break, we have some tough games, so we need to start prepping for those matches.

This game is all the more interesting now that Jose is supposedly being removed from office after the game.

So.......the pressure is off some of the players because they know Jose's leaving/already left, or the pressure is on because the atmosphere could be toxic?

Tonight's headlines have robbed any chance of a win imo.

Line up will be interesting I guess. Missed a lot of games this season but will be able to catch this one.

A draw or a loss and that atmosphere is going to get even worse. What a silly time to do this if the reports are true.

Let the Old Trafford atmosphere decide. I'm sure not only players have something to say.

    Team news

Mourinho confirmed to MUTV that Rojo, Herrera and Lingard are all still absent via injury, however, Young could return to the squad as his injury was minor.

Despite our bad start to the season, Mourinho feels it will improve:

"I think we have enough potential to do better than what we are doing in the Premier League. We are better than this and, because we are better than this, our situation is going to improve. I have no doubts about that.

"This team can do much better than what it's doing and the team will do much better than what it's doing, but if you want me to repeat, I repeat. I told [you] last season was a fantastic season for us and if you want something more, in pre-season I also said that this season was going to be very difficult."

Read up and discuss the press conference here.
If we can't beat a Newcastle team that is pure dogshit, there really is no hope for us.
I want us to win convincingly...then sack the miserable one.

Shaw September Player of the Month

Congrats to Luke Shaw for winning Player of the Month for the second month running. As a result of his continued form he's also been called up to the England squad again.

    React here.
i don't know whether it's worth staying up to watch the game at midnight if i'm going to see a "west ham-esque" performance. On the other side, if newcastle tonk us 3-0 at home, it might be worth it just for the explosion of rage.:(

Hope not to see another demonstration by Pogba on how to play football for 90 minutes without breaking into a sweat.

    No Valencia?

Had a feeling that Valencia would be played in midweek against Valencia with Dalot making his league debut against West Ham and Valencia himself seems to have confirmed he won't be playing today with this not-so cryptic tweet.
