Aside from the few counters we basically couldn't get out of our half, fair result so far all things considered. Perhaps a soft pen but you can't really have VAR, do a check and have challenges like these not given. It was always going to be a problem with using technology. If it was on the other end and being checked and not given, I'd be furious.

We make all our opponents look better than they are, we really don’t need to do it against City. We look terrified of them and are either rushing decision making or just not bothered to make any decision.

About as much as we could hope for so far. Just about staying in it defensively with a few breakaway half chances.

Outrageous pen that never gets called was gutting, but we're still in it and I cling to last year that never looked likely to turn either.

City are doing their slow motion keep ball thing that they do so well when leading, it's frustrating given that lead came from a dodgy penalty due to an official with an obvious conflict of interest.

We need some changes though, Eriksen has played the half that his legs will allow, and Amrabat is way off the pace.

Most of the teams beating City will need things to go their way. Up until the penalty I don't think we were camping AS much. There was a period we were under the cosh up to that point but we did go at them.

Rodri is free because Stones steps across Maguire and makes no attempt to play the ball, meaning he can't follow Rodri. Is that not a foul? It's a foul in the middle of the pitch in open play.

Its the opposite. Maguire is all over Stones, but Stones hasnt forced his run through getting away from him and into a zone where he can get to the ball. Its also outside the box so would be less dangerous. Rodri has less impact from Hojlund's arm, but he's goalside and the contact is interfering with his chances of turning the ball in. Rodri knows he'll probably get it and goes down.
