Hopefully we pick up the 3 points and go on a run, it would be huge for the teams confidence.

I suspect many of you would be gutted.

After what I have seen today I can’t see us winning. Ole should get the sack after this one.

At least we have 24 hours extra time to rest and prepare for Saturday.

City have a very difficult night ahead of them against Club Bruges.

I'm down to my last straw pretty much....

Another interesting stat is the last time we went 2-0 up in a game (prior to Spurs) is that 7 March game against City.
That is a very damning stat. Thats about 5/6 months of football.

It's funny how people are so negative about this match considering we've been in this situation many times before. If the team play as open as they did against Liverpool this will be another massacre but I can see it being a very defensive performance where we sit deep and counter as usual in these games.

Palace just beat City with a counter attack strategy. If they can do it so can we. It really won't be pretty but then it never is with Ole's brand of football. Plus we have Ronaldo :D

I initially suspected we might nick something from this one, but with Varane out im not too confident anymore. I fully expect Captain fantastic to drop a clanger or two.

Think we'll pull it off. Man Utd 2-1 Man City.

Assuming Varane and Lindelof are out, Mctominay cb like for Scotland?...

    De Gea

    Mctominay Bailly Maguire

    Awb VdB Fred Shaw

    Bruno

    Cavani Ronaldo

Let the dicking commence :nervous: :(

City have been poor from their standards so far this season but looking at the way they play and the way we do this could get ugly.
City literally play with 6 midfielders and will run rings around us

How long is Lindelof out. Hope he’s ready for this one

    De Gea
    Lindelof. Bailly Maguire
    AWB VDB Fred Shaw
    Bruno
    Cavani Ronaldo

    would love to see this

It will either be an absolute borefest with one team putting 7 men behind the ball and the other passing a million times while unable to shoot, or an absolute bloodbath for City if they find the opening quickly.

Just not another humiliation. I hope we park the bus hit them on the counter and pray to god our players have some inspiration.

They lost to palace and baily and Ronaldo came of great performances. We should play 3 in the back and we can sneak a win here as long as we stay solid in the back.

    De Gea
    Linderloff/Matic- Bailey-Maguire
    AwB-----------------------------------Shaw
    -----------Fred-Mctominey-----------
    -------------bruno-----
    Ronaldo------------Rashford/Cavani

Ole is here to stay. His job was never under threat even after the Liverpool's game

Yeah and like some have said on here just looking at him and hearing his voice full of excuses is making me lose the passion for this club

Not looking forward to that. Expecting a battering followed by pointless tweets about unity and passion and Ole saying he just got an inch closer. Grim, grim days.

A victory here will give Ole enough time at least until the end of this year.

God knows what’s going to happen here. Our last five results were 2-2, 3-0, 0-5, 3-2 and 2-4.

Basically I feel the same every game - could be any score. Could take a beating, could be a tight game, could be a handsome win, could be a big score draw. Absolutely no idea.

I guess a clean sheet is the least likely option of all, but City themselves seem to be feast or famine up front. 37 goals across 10 of their games and 0 goals in the other five.

In the absence of any logic I chose the result from a random scoreline generator and it said 2-2, so I’m going with that.

City aren’t looking great. I’m thinking draw.

It takes a great deal of effort and a reasonable level of delusion to be positive about this game. City will win this. the only question is by how many goals.

I truly admire people who still have faith that VDB can get anywhere near the starting lineup for these types of games.

    DDG
    AWB, Varane/Lindelof/ Baily , Maguire,Shaw
    McFred
    Greenwood, Bruno,Rash
    Ronaldo

Maguire is undroppable. We'll see if Varane is able to play, if not,I'd liketo see Eric.
No chance both Ronaldo and Cavani will start, I'm just not sure whether this is too much for Rash after the injury
We'll win I'm sure of it.IMO it'll be much more difficult to win against Chelsea after the break

    De Gea
    AWB - Bailly - Maguire - Shaw
    McTominay
    Bruno - Fred
    Sancho
    Ronaldo - Cavani

Wouldnt mind seeing something like that.

We all want changes, but it will not happen. Sancho, VDB, Matic, Telles and co will not play. Ole will field more or less the same team as against Spurs and this is it.

Think that this is the correct formation, but against one of the best team around once again, we ll be annihilate.

    -----------------------------------------De Gea--------------------------------------------
    ------------------Bailly---------------Maguire---------Lindelof(Shaw)--------
    Wan Bissaka------Mc Tominay------Fred-------------------Shaw(Telles)
    ------------------------------------------Bruno-----------------------------------------------
    --------------------------------Ronaldo-------Cavani------------------------------------

With Varane i thought we could've nicked a draw, but now, I can see city winning 3-1.

Thoughts: its an awful fast turnaround for Ronnie at his age. Start Sancho. Cavani as a sub? Give Maguire a rest. Jones/Lindelof/Bailly? Matic for the first half, Donny second. Rashford to score.

Didn't City have a player sent off vs Palace in the first half?

Hoping we (Ronaldo) pull something out of the bad for a good result.......... I am nervous though.

I can see this being the Liverpool game again if we start as slowly as we usually do.

Not sure how we can ask a 36 year old to start a 3rd game in a week but I don't see us dropping him, don't see us using the 3-4-2-1 that we did against Spurs either, I think it will be a flat back 5, something like the below (This isn't necessarily what I want):

    DDG
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Bailly Shaw
    Fred Mctominay
    Bruno
    Ronaldo Cavani

I'd probably prefer to start Greenwood and Cavani (Bring Ronaldo on as he excels in the last 30 minutes of games), I'd play Fred with Matic as well not Mctominay.

It's going to be the line-up against Spurs but I fear for us.
