People forgetting the opposition! The way city are moving the ball about and with the quality they've got the best team we've played against by a mile this season. Credit to us for the way we've handled it so far. You can't demand much more from our players.

Bruno has been phenomenal for us since signing but his erratic passing was the reason there weren't a lot of top clubs in for him. I'd say he was even only around Ole's 3rd choice.
He could never play for a manager like Pep.

We really do suck at winning second and loose balls. Times and times I see City players bumping into 2-3 of our players with the ball getting away from them yet our players still fail to gaines possession in those circumstances and the City players recoup the ball. Fecking how.

Feel like a mistake or a counter attack from either side settles this, city are dangerous on the counter too.

Honestly I’m not feeling good about this, but I have faith! If Bruno turns it on we will win.

Bruno obviously gets all the leeway in the world, but he HAS to play Rashford in there. Disaster of a pass.

That said, he's gotta be fully knackered, wasting his time pressing this City back line.

On that, we should just retreat. City are excellent at creating very good opportunities from us trying to pen them in, and we've not managed it once.

This game reminds me of those united arsenal clashes when both used to be title challengers.

    This! We’re awful at it.

But the offsides got called by Ref/assistant refs. I didn't see any use of VAR.
There is VAR in the semi finals as we saw yesterday. Not every var check takes 10 minutes, they can rule something out quickly, otherwise they inform the ref via the radio.

Not great by us so far. We failed to take full advantage of the defensive mistakes City made early in the half. After that we just didn't look that effective, wayward passing and City shutting down our balls into the forwards. Not ideal.
City probably the better team. Both had chances but there's were probably slightly better.

Damn. Then they should have checked what seemed to look like a handball from Stones in the box.
They did check it. A lot of people have a misconception that VAR don’t check some incidents. They actually check every major incident but sometimes the check is quick enough that they don’t need to stop the game. It’s only when there’s doubt, that they hold the game up to make sure.

United are up for it, a solid half from them, also, I expected City to dominate possession. Anyone that thought otherwise really doesn't know their football. Both teams have had their moments and I'd be encouraged by that first half on our part.

Have to laugh at the posters saying how poor it's been. Get out of here, go watch PSG you clowns, you're never happy, always moaning and negative.

Sloppy stuff from Bruno late on.

City look a threat and we've not really got going yet.
(disclaimer - I missed the first 10 with slow laptop issues - if we looked great then!)

A grind so far, as expected. Good game plan for stopping City. Less sloppiness going forward, and United will win this. Think Pogba will be moved down into CM as the match drags on, Rashford moving over to LW and Greenwood coming on at RW.

Funny how people see things different. Not saying it's wrong but I thought Shaw has been caught out of position a few times :)

He has but I think it is a necessary gamble, he does well when he gets the ball further up the pitch.

Hoping to catch the second half now. Been watching the drama on Capitol Hill!

Tough game to call. We've been doing well defensively and poor offensively.

Martial doing well to get us out when he gets the ball. Pogba and Bruno need to be much better. They are over-pumped. Need to calm down and have a few more simpler touches of the ball. Rotate it a bit.

Rashford looking good but is straying offside in most of his runs. Clearly something we have identified as a weakness.

Fred and Scott need to get in the game more and push the team up 10-15 yards.

Let's see what Ole comes up with at half time. Definitely cagey from both teams but no where close to the dull fest in the league. Space is there for both teams to exploit with moments of quality.

Here is hoping this is one of those Bruno games where he comes up with a big goal and /or assist after having a stinker!

Bruno shouldn’t be judged on one half. It’s been dozen of times already when Bruno has one poor half and delivers goals or assists in another, so let’s wait

We're picking our moments well, just the final pass has been off when the ball has fallen to Bruno and Pogba.

Rashford and Martial have looked dangerous when on the ball. Slight criticism would be that we don't have as much control of the game as we would like.

Feels like this formation is very hard to pull off a counterattack style because there is not much width; every time there is - there is no one narrow.

He could never play for a manager like Pep.

Bruno averages at least 1 goal or assist every game.

He'd walk into any side in the prem, including City.

Pogba frustrates the life out of me like no other player before him. He just seems to lose the ball everytime. So annoying.

I'm stuck at the vet with a sick pet, so missed the first half live. Seems like everyone on the pitch is garbage. Meanwhile, we've taken five shots and forced a save to there three shots, none on target.

Rashford's offsides a lot, Bruno and Pogba are wasteful, McFred are running around like headless chickens, and our defenders are missing assignments. I'm sure Martial's been a lazy cnut, too. (Did I miss anything else?)

So... it's still nil-nil and we'll probably hold until we switch on in the last 10 and nick a winner.

Can someone explain to me how has it taken 5 years and 2 managers to give Pogba a run of games on the left of a 4231?

If we lose this game it’s on both Bruno and pogba sound idiotic flicks
The most frustrating thing about Pogba surely has to be that he beats a man and instead of putting it infront of him in to free grass he roles his foot over the ball for style points. Defender gets something in and he loses the ball.

Honestly if he puts that in front of him there is no one on that pitch that could live with him physically and getting back at him if he just moves forward. I don’t think he’s been that bad but there have certainly been poor moments in that half where it’s like what you doing. Same goes for Bruno in that regard.

They did check it. A lot of people have a misconception that VAR don’t check some incidents. They actually check every major incident but sometimes the check is quick enough that they don’t need to stop the game. It’s only when there’s doubt, that they hold the game up to make sure.
We Haven’t seen it which is the main issue. They should be showing something like that instantly, instead we are all left wondering

At least we're fighting a really, really good City side for once. We've come some way.

Knife edge. We're still in it so I'm happy. All I want is a win and that final. Absolutely don't care how.

So far so good. I don't expect to beat a Pep side in terms of moving the ball around so the lack of possession is expected. Rashford has been very dangerous, is making good runs throughout. Bruno needs to take a second longer in his decision making. Defense has been solid for most part but I have to say Foden has done much better against AWB than Sterling. Fernandinho is such an important player for them and should be the type of DM we look to sign.

The final pass from both teams is lacking. It'll probably end 1-0. Hope its for us.

He misplaces plenty but not through a lack of effort or invention. That was just a tired and lazy flick when all he needed to do was take a touch and pass.

Dont think it was tired or lazy, he was trying to be too clever with a fancy flick on. Like you say he should have took the touch and played it wide. Had his attempt worked it would have looked world class.

He would improve every single team in the world, including Bayern.

If you were a manager, you’d be a Big Sam type wouldn’t you?

    Frustrating first half.

Bruno has been wasteful but when it comes off we call him a magician so as with many of our players, we have to take the rough with the smooth.

Maguire decent other than showing KDB the whites of Hendo's eyes
