    Can't remember the last time I felt this nonchalant about a Manchester Derby. Either we get a loss which wouldn't surprise me, or we scrape a win and the Ole show goes on for a while longer. Either way today is just another chapter us of going around in circles...sorry...I mean trusting the process.
     
    Predicted a back four, but on reflection i think it will be the back five and system that was excellent in March.

    If someone told me that to get Woodward sacked we need to lose the next 10 games in a row, I'd take that pain.
     
    I have a feeling we will win this. Cannot give a good reason why, but just think we're due a good game from the lads.
     
    I suppose a problem today could be us being too predictable with our approach. The same one that gave us joy against City last season. Not switching it up.

    Like Nagelsmann, surely Pep and his staff have looked at the previous games and come up with something to rectify it. If we put out a very predictable XI in the shape he expects from us, they might set some traps for us.

    They battered us in The League Cup SF 1st leg at Old Trafford. Pep will be looking for more of that.

    So many what ifs today.

    Regarding the age issue - if a manager senses that the attackers are 2-3 years away from prime-time it is his duty to buy in a couple of experienced attackers who can bridge that time gap. We bought Cavani, but he has a history of injuries. We bought a player from China, too, who just isn't good enough to play in the EPL.
    Our squad is ridiculously expensive and the wage bill is sky high, yet the performances on the pitch do not reflect this expense.
    Meanwhile our former manager has his new team in 1st place. People on this forum are now claiming that Spurs' squad is better than ours!!! Absolutely shocking.

    What will be the new excuse in a few months time, I wonder?

    Did Ole really get the backing he deserved this season? We still only have one established winger in the squad even though Ole knew there was a glaring need to be addressed on the wing and thus gave Ed the order to go get Sancho. He also wanted a CB but was vetoed on that move as well.

    It’s perfectly fine to be Ole out but the twisted narrative put out there by those who want him gone is what confounds most people with common sense. Cavani injury prone for example is absolutely ridiculous when he’s had one season where he’s dealt with injury issues but otherwise has been one of the best goal scorers in Europe this decade.
     
    I've got a good feeling about this game and Rashford especially.

    We'll win this game comfortably.
     
    First time since 2014/15 we’ve faced City above them in the league? Think it is.

    We won't get relegated.
    Woodward gets fired and we'll start winning/drawing.
    Just get Woodward out and the new CEO can decide on the managerial situation.
    Ole is grossly under qualified to manage in the EPL, but while Woodward remains (regardless of manager), we'll constantly be attempting to win the Top 4 Trophy.....a trophy that no top club should aspire to win.

    On the flip side, I have a very bad feeling about this one. :lol:

    Think City look like they're clicking into gear. Us on the other hand, seem to have regressed recently.

    We have Greenwood, James and Mata who can all play RW.

    Instead of signing Sancho, we signed two less high profile players instead in the form of Pellistri and Amad Diallo.

    They might take longer to make the impact that Sancho possibly would have, but could prove to be shrewd acquisitions.

    Does anyone really think Sancho would have improved us to such an extent that the other problem areas would be less noticeable?

    Sancho doesn't prevent Spurs from beating us 6-1 or Leipzig going 2-0 up.
     
    I'll take the win of course. Every united fan would. Would love nothing more than for ole to fluke the league. But I said the same about the CL and ultimately our manager is too poor to have us competing. We'll probably lose and meander our way around fourth needing the magical game in hand to try and sneak into the top 4 at the end of the season.

    You have a better chance of a fluke CL win than winning a league title. Di Matteo.

    Titles require consistency. You pretty much have to be at it for at least 30 out of 38 games. Even more the past 3 seasons due to the standards set by City and Liverpool.

    We're probably at least 4 points better off than we should be right now (Brighton and West Ham), so he's definitely had some things go his way already.

    I wouldn't say we've regressed, exactly, but neither have we progressed. We're a team capable of great and terrible things in equal measure, the epitome of inconsistency. But I fancy us to turn it on today, based on nothing more than a gut feeling.

    That said, we could just as easily lose 4 or 5-0 and no one would be surprised.

    Same for me. I felt way more nervous vs PSG and Leipzig

    It's the United that won 4 games in a row which will turn up, and they have to be careful with the first goal, but besides that? We should be fine.

    They are strong but so are we. We have been missing Fred's energy on Tue, he will help us today.

    Nagelsmann was lucky Fred was not there to cut the supply of the ball for those ball switches. That's something that changes a game. Again, I think Pep's strategy will all depends if he trusts his double pivot, or not. If he trusts them, he will try to play very high. And that could be good for us. But if he doesn't, we are in for a tedious game and one of us will score on a mistake.
