What's new-ish chant our fans are singing? A bit like the Georgey Best one, to some catchy pop song melody?

I'm pretty sure it was Mou who instructed our groundsmen to water the pitch so much so as to mess with Pep's game plan. Neither play nor let play

People criticising Carrick? He hasn't been completely bossing the game like his usual self but has still made a huge difference and has given our midfield more control and structure. Compared to what we have seen recently that half wasn't to bad.

We need to play him as a defensive midfielder. Failing that, maybe in defence. Failing that, just put him in goal. :p
Left side in a 3 man midfield and he'll shine.
I repeat, left side in a 3 man midfield.

More as in he's just been knocking it down the line and whipping in difficult crosses to execute (not the best crosser as it is).

Shaw should be blocking more, but not as if Navas has been getting in behind into more dangerous positions. Shaw need to improve, but not sure Navas has been that big of a threat to be majorly concerned.
Yeah Navas hasn't been a huge threat due to his poor crossing, bar the early one for the best chance of the match.

We've been decent. Our pressing has been close to what it was against Liverpool (best of the season), but we're making it very difficult for ourselves with individual mistakes. Desperately need a win tonight, so that we can build on the positives, rather than have the individual mistakes highlighted and subsequently exacerbate the negative trend.

Can't disagree with Carragher at all. I'm sorry but if Pogba and Ibra are going to look this shit against a glorified reserve side then they might as well pack it in.

It seems the consensus is it's a poor game, I didn't notice, too busy being relieved to see a bit of heart and effort from a few players

Honestly, the most embarrassing thing I've seen about United this season is the litany of dramatic comments I see on this forum.

10 games into the season and people are having a meltdown. As someone who has gone into two companies which were failing, with toxic leadership, a ton of deadwood and a morale stripped team; I can attest to how hard it is to turn that situation around. I've had more set backs than I can remember, especially when asking people to do things differently to how they are accustomed.

But the fecking fannies in this place, expect miracles in a couple of months. United is a unique job, with unique expectations, challenges and institutional traditions. With a huge weight of recent history.

The manager deserves a full season to shape the team and tactics before any meltdown can ensue. Support the team ffs. The constant negativity just makes it worse for everyone. People cite the case of Klopp; but he not only melted down at Dortmund, but then led LFC to a mighty 7th place last season. It's only this season they've started to look decent.

At the very least Jose and the players deserve that chance to develop.

And for the love of god, will you mewling quims just lay off Pogba! He's 23 ffs. Huge pressure. Let the kid settle in. It wasn't your money that was spent. Get off this kids' back.

    Pathetic from some of you.

Can you imagine City's first XI versus our "B" team (though at this point I cant tell the difference) we'd be completely slaughtered. And here we are playing them like they're our equals at HOME. jesus we have become a hot mess

Can't disagree with Carragher at all. I'm sorry but if Pogba and Ibra are going to look this shit against a glorified reserve side then they might as well pack it in.

The entire team is in one massive slump. Writing off Pogba in particular is stupid.

How many times has Zlatan lost possession? trip over the ball, atrocious first touch, idiotic passes, etc.. He just fecking stand there and watch the show... total fecking useless, the very definition of only playing well when the team's on form, can't be depend on for a fight/scrape.

Where's Martial though? Zlatan's been absolutely diabolical and shouldn't come out for the second half, but we've no options on the bench.

Messi would most likely cost £150M+ and if Barca played hard ball (which is what Juve did with us), then £200M is a possibility.
Remember, Messi is at the very peak of his powers. Pogba may yet be 1-2 years away from his peak.

Yes you are right, I just think these prices are obscene already. More to the point is I don't think the top players in world football today would be at their best in this current United team.

After all the comments on here you'd think we were Sunderland
We haven't been that bad, we've been the better team. We just need to make it count. Game is being played at a low level by both sides so far. Hoping we can go up a gear in the second half. I'd rather have Pogba playing where Mata is and Mata higher up -- but I guess Jose doesn't think Mata can press as well from the front.

Jose in changing room must surely be thinking is this the worst team I have ever managed. Shower of shite. Average Square pegs in worse round holes. He needs to sort it out, at least play players in their favored positions.
Having lost at least 3 starters and one of his own buys who either will or won't play, can't say I'm too surprised at the performance.
As for the comments re Shaw. Last season he was played regularly and looked better each game. This season he's in, he's out. Any more surprises he looks unfit and short of match practice

Thank you! Finally someone who doesn't get emotional like a 13 year old girl

A mark of progression for us would be if our players were on the same wavelength....

"I'll pass to you, now you do something..."

"...I'm not sure what to do, so I'll just pass to you, know you do something..."

"...I've tried to do something but failed, so I'll take the easy route out and pass backwards."

The lack of cohesion is frightening at times. Do they even train together?

In no more than flashes this season, have we seen glimpses of anything resembling a unit.

It seems the consensus is it's a poor game, I didn't notice, too busy being relieved to see a bit of heart and effort from a few players
It has been poor. The only real chance I can recall is the first minute when Kelechi somehow missed a header from 4-5 yards by a mile.

Remember this is the guy who got rid of Mata and still doesn't trust him imo

O FFS this is the exact reason we're in this mess! We aren't fecking special! Grow up.

I find it weird how Shaw keep positioning himself to prevent Navas going inside when Navas if the definition of a "get to the line and cross"-winger.

Also impressed by Herreras pressing and the fight he's putting up.
