It’s like football manager. You have fluid counter attack or direct counter attack as the options. Fluid means playing 4-5 quick short passes while direct is 1-2 longer passes forward.
The direct version is meant to be for less technical teams. The classic get the ball forward as quick as you can.
Fluid counter attack is meant to be something more akin to how Fergie’s teams counter attacked or any higher level team. The classic counter attack against Arsenal in the Champions league all those years is the perfect template.
