It won't be respectable if that's the team

fecking Shaw Maguire and Bissaka ?

    Are you serious?

You act like we can avoid putting shitty players out there somehow

You literally cannot pick a starting eleven with this squad that doesn't feature a few players that have no business starting for United.

We'll try playing from the back with the same players and the result will be the same as well.

Hope I'm wrong, but can't see any other outcome.

I know but you can pick players that aren't those three that have failed time and time and time again. By not scoring we might not win. By playing them 3 means we won't be defending like professionals and will certainly lose.

Remember the season with Ole where we just couldn’t lose a game away? Well, every season, I notice we excel in one area and not so much in the other. Maybe this season, we will lose to all the teams we expect to beat and we will win the games we’re not expecting to win. Starting with Liverpool on Monday. Something tells me, these lads will turn up and Tuesday morning we will be saying how great we are. I think Ten Hag will do a number on the top 5 which is crazy because I think we will struggle against the lesser sides. I think this is partly down to enjoying playing with a bit of space. Defend deep, like teams below us do and we will struggle. Go up against a team who has more of the ball suits us better.

If I see Luke Shaw, Maguire, or Bruno in the starting line up of this game, any of them, then I know ETH has no future here and this season is done and over. Doesnt matter who we buy before transfers are over, these three cannot start after the first two games we have had.

Yeah it's ugly. I've been going back and forth on where to play Martinez. I think once Case is there Fred will be much better with him. But for this one it would not surprise me to see Martinez midfield. Could see it going either way and there are drawbacks to each.

Yes Bruno has been on my last damn nerve and it's not a new thing. That goal he missed that was point blank first thing he does is start telling his teammate how the ball should have been fed to him. Guy is full of himself and could use a benching but we also need to score goals and our forwards look shitty. Casemiro is going to hand that dude his ass in that locker room. It's coming. But I could see them needing to play him depending on the approach.

Shaw & Maguire fully agree. They need to sit. There is zero value in trotting them back out there in a game this big, when we need effort and intensity across the pitch.

All three will start, maybe with the exception of Shaw.

Wouldn’t mind if it got called off and Liverpool gets the 3pts. Save the humiliating defeat 3 weeks in a row.

Anyone think this is going to get called off?
    I hope not.

It’s probably the best time to play Liverpool in the last 3/4 years. They’ve had a poor start.

They’ve only got Diaz and Salah available from their forwards and have injuries in midfield. No Nunez, Firmino, jota and Thiago is a big blow.

It’s a match we should be using to try and kick start our season and get some confidence in the team.

    That's a bit much
I know it probably will happen and I dont think they are all worthless, just saying - if it does then I know ETH has no balls and you cant take this shit team out of this dire state without steel balls

I actually like Bruno and think he can be great but he has been horrible and needs temporary benching

Shaw is a sub at best. Since we have no other sub he can be one but I dont want to see him startinh when Malacia is firing

Maguire should have been sold. Even Bailly is way better than him

feels very odd having this on a monday night (maybe over fears of a protest and it will somehow not happen on a monday). Oh well, at least it can't spoil the weekend...

    ---------------------------De Gea
    Dalot - Varane - Martinez - Maguire - Malacia
    -----------------McTominay - Eriksen
    ------------ Sancho - Martial - Bruno

Martinez can push to CM when we have some momentum and let McTominay do his surging run to the box.

Shame that it's not among ETHs favourite formations, but three at the back could work quite alright with the players we currently have

    Yes indeed.
Honestly. The way some of our fans are behaving.
This is Manchester United v Liverpool. One of our most important games of the season.
If we win, it should restore a lot of confidence.
If we draw then fair enough.
And if we lose, then we lose. It is a game of football.

We are going to win this match.
I've been seduced by this thought too. After all, it's a two horse race. But then I remember that Liverpool will be pinging the ball around at high speed and we do not have the players or the systems (yet) to respond adequately to it. If we win it'll have to be a robbery.

I’ll take a “fighting” defeat. There’s absolutely no chance of us winning or even drawing this.

Bullshit, Liverpool are not all that, they have had 2 lucky draws.
there is every chance we can win this, but we must play better than we already have done.
Saying we have absolutely no chance is just wrong.

I like your style. Of course nobody knows the outcome until the final whistle.
But we have had plenty of time to work on tactics and fitness.
I am hopeful for a significantly better performance and dreaming of a win.

    I agree.

We absolutely must hold on and not concede early though, because you just know it’ll take the wind out of us. If we manage to keep level or even nick a goal first half then anything is possible even if we’re being dominated.

I am very confident we can get something from this game.

A couple of corners at least :D

If you get to pick one team to play against when you're out of form, it would be Manchester United. I don't like saying it but it is true.

I'm sure the Liverpool players are relishing the thought of coming up against you too Rashy.

So we can look forward to this shitehawk breaking down the forward play we do manage tomorrow ....

    Great

We have to win this game! Chelsea dripping points is massive and we can jump above the scousers aswell. A win here would give the squad massive confidence going forward and hopefully we’ll have 2 new signings in the team for next weekends game.
