Your display and explanation contradict themselves. That's the 3-4-1-2 we usually use with 3 at the back. But Pogba's never in that position, more Lingard, Sánchez or even Mata.

The setup to start the City game was awful. Suggest you watch the first 30mins as it was Rojo/Snalling hoofing it to their CBs. After we conceded we started playing football and actually did well trying but the original setup was awful and we need a smarter strategy to counter pressing than hoofing it for Lukaku to chase. Sometimes our plan B puts our plan A to shame
But is McTominay adequate for this game in a midfield three? He disappointed a lot, specially in attack, in that half against Palace. I wish Carrick could play here in a midfield three.

I feel Klopp is worried about our attack hence why he took a dig at our playing style last week. He knows very well that if we sit deep his team can't score against us so he's trying to get a reaction from Jose and team to come out and attack so they take advantage of any gaps left behind. Our approach at Anfield this season shows this. A 0-0 draw but more importantly Klopp didn't make any attacking changes to take the risk to win the game. He was just as negative with his tactics as we were which shows that he's scared of our attack.

He did change his approach in the recent Spurs game and we got battered so I think that will reinforce his defensive strategy for the game.

They had more possession than us but didn't take enough risks to win the game. Klopp could've changed one of his midfielders and try and open up a bit but he didn't want to lose that stability. A draw was the fair result.
Feel like you're repeating what Jose said. He gambled on them throwing on more attackers so we could counter. They didn't. But that doesn't mean they weren't already attacking in the first place. It just means they didn't go gung ho, which isn't quite the same as saying they played defensively. Just because Klopp didn't resort to his naive attacking ways doesn't mean he defended. True he was cautious but only by his own standards
We didn't really sit back last year either, being more reserved doesn't equate to parking the bus. It was more akin to how you guys play against the smaller sides regularly and given you have 2 trophies to show for it, obviously works.

Well, the same applies for us as well.We are pretty strong at home and it would be a cowardly approach to sit back against your midfield.
