A midfield diamond of Carrick, Herrera, Fellaini and Mata with Rooney & RVP up top is what I'd like.

Its a derby, anything can happen. Very rarely are these games simply about being the better team.

In 25 minutesOne hates to tempt fate, but I can't see anything but a fairly routine home win here. Liverpool haven't played well all season, and while we've looked shonky at times ourselves, we've just got more quality throughout the side.
As an attacking threat, Liverpool don't worry me much (maybe Sterling and Coutinho if they turn up, and Gerrard's always a danger from set pieces, but otherwise pedestrian). And just as with last season, they're prone to major defensive errors (they've made more than any team in the league so far).
I know 'form goes out of the window' in games like this one, but it'll be a major upset if Liverpool win, and a bit of a shock if they even get a draw.Last edited:
I am the exact same.
I get a horrible feeling about every game. I agree though, Gerrard's going to get 2 goals out of nowhere, Mignolet/Jones is going to have a De Gea-like goalkeeping performance and Kolo Toure will turn into Beckenbauer reincarnated.
Well I'm definitely not as confident as some people are for sure. Liverpool still have a few good players and usually seem to up their game when they play us. Well have to play better than in the last two fixtures. It feels like poor and/or out of form defenders often suddenly remember how to play when they're playing united.
I feel the same. I don't feel particularly confident with our defence especially with Smalling out and we look shocking going forward too. Our attack has no pace whatsoever and doesn't excite me in the slightest without Di Maria.
Despite the fact Di Maria has been out of form and now injured.

We should be. Our squad is less than optimal right now and with Liverpool out of the title race and the CL, you can bet this is their game of the season. They have nothing left to fight for and will give it their all this game. They'll come at us worse than Southampton did.
