Probably something at least vaguely similar to this:

    De Gea

    Valencia Evans Rojo Young

    Carrick

    Herrera Fellaini

    Mata

    Rvp Rooney

Sterling v Valencia should be tasty. Handbags galore.

I'd completely forgotten about that. Wasn't it down to a needlessly dangerous tackle by Sterling which Valencia reacted to?

Something like that, I forget the details but it should be interesting nonetheless.

Would I be asking for too much for Pereira to get a few minutes and get some real derby experience?

I really don't understand the people that think we should play the kids who aren't ready yet in every game.

People call for McNair to start, Januzaj over Rooney and Mata at 10, Pereira (who is yet to get his first cap) in midfield, Wilson (who is still being developed and is yet to score) ahead of a firing Van Persie...

There's a way to bring youngsters through, dropping established first team players in important fixtures to give them minutes isn't one of them.

He said he hopes Pereira gets a few minutes, not that he should start.

Yeah probably not fair on him, it's just a point I'd been meaning to bring up for a while.

I'm all for bringing the youngsters through but it's got to be done in a way that doesn't affect the performance or results.

Adnan and Mata in snoods... Fergie wouldn't have stood for this nonsense!

If we are winning by two or more goals.

I don't mind him getting some experience away to Villa as a sub but this game is way too important for anything other than our absolute best players.

If Liverpool win it could reignite their season, if we win and preferably comfortably we could put them (almost) out of the race for top four assuming we continue our good form and they continue their inconsistent performances.

People seem to be forgetting Liverpool have been unlucky in their games recently in the sense they could have had a few more wins and we definitely could have dropped quite a few points, the gap between the two clubs probably isn't as big as the table suggests, both clubs have recently been in tight games that could have gone either way therefore Liverpool could still close it in the coming month or two.

Anyone else nervous about this one? After our last performance, Di Maria not back and knowing that scousers will raise their game for this one, I'm not too confident, hope I'm wrong.

    I had a thought.

Should Louis van Gaal not say Angel di Maria could play, we will see, and leave it at that?

Rodgers needs to think about the game, he needs a plan A, B, C etc. Surely it's completely different planning for di Maria, why not let him worry about him, right now I bet he's feeling a little more confident.

Who is to say that's not exactly what he is doing. Bluffing. I fecking hope so.

Anyone worried about a rusty Evans against Sterling? Rojo will have to do double time

I wouldn't play the diamond formation without Di Maria.
Pace and "Attack Attack Attack!!!" should be really our tactics against this Liverpool side

    Starting XI:
De Gea - Rafael, Evans, Rojo, Young - Herrera, Carrick; Valencia, Rooney, Januzaj - Van Persie

Bench: Lindegaard, Jones, Fletcher, Fellaini, Mata, Falcao, Wilson

Something like that, I forget the details but it should be interesting nonetheless.

Here it is - Valencia was well withing his rights to act that way to a potentially career ending tackle by the sneaky little git named Rahim Sterling. It was a friendly game right before the world cup. If it was not for Tony's quick reflexes, he could be out for a long time. As the scousers call it, it was "Bang out of order". Sterling "Dives" i a friendly against us, tries to "intentionally hurt" a player in a friendly. You can just imagine what shite his manager would be asking him to do against us tomorrow.

Also, lol at the speed with which ref showed red card to both of them. As someone said in the comments of that vid "Ref be like: if I pull out the red card at lightspeed they won't feel bad"

Liverpool were so poor against Basel's 3-2-3-2 sort of thing I could see a similar-ish thing from us, especially with Di Maria apparently out, but our wingbacks a bit deeper and obviously Van Gaal doesn't seem to believe in pressing the whole field:

    ---------------RVP------Falcao/Rooney------
    -----------------Rooney/Mata---------------
    Young----Herrera/Fellaini-Carrick-----Valencia
    ----------Rojo-----Evans------Mcnair----------

or both Herrera and Fellaini playing and Carrick in the back 3.

Wilson scored two against Hull last season?

Anyone's game this. I'd put us as slight favourites but when has that ever helped us against this lot?

Playing a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-4-2 diamond would be ideal for this game IMO.
If Rafael can start, I would pick Valencia over Herrera, Mata or Fellaini in the RM or RCM role.

    Something like this

    -Herrera-Rooney-Valencia-
    ------Carrick--Fellaini------

    -----------Mata-------------
    ----Herrera----Valencia----
    ----------Carrick------------

    Much rather 4-1-3-2 than 4-2-3-1.

    Agreed.
People tend to leave logic out of it and fantasise that a youth player will come in and take the League by storm, unfortunately it doesn't work like that.

Aye, it's like they think they will all have a Ronaldo-Bolton like epiphanic performance.

The reality is that they will probably make a few mistakes, get shrugged off the ball and look like they need a few games to catch up.

I want us to win by attack and not by beeing unbelievably lucky not to concede and get a goal out a of an opponents mistake

I would love to see Wilson start against Liverpool and score his first goal of the season, might give him a big confidence booster. Imagine seeing his score off his trademark dribble through middle, passing everyone and rounding the keeper to top it off:drool:. One can only dream.

If wilson starts, mata benched and rooney is behind rvp and wilson then imo thats ridiculous.
Especially for Falcao. Everything totally points to falcao being a woodward signing that lvg didnt want.

I expect to lose if he starts throwing kids in against pool. Its bad enough we have calamity evans in defence

Is it just me or does United play around 90% of their EPL matches on sundays and mondays?

No! Start as strong as possible.

    2-0 United.
robin with two clinical finishes showing everyone hes back.

lets beat these cnuts lets beat them well.

If Wilson starts over Falcao, it'd be on merit. He's been poor when brought on in all honesty. So far from the player of a couple of years ago right now.
