Thanks to the previous management, the Mickey Mouse cup and the FA cup are the only realistic targets left this season. And the only way to any European football next season.

Fortunately, it's at home so United might be able to see them out to penalties. Then it's a coin toss.

6 points till 5th place currently. Hardly impossible to get into European football with a 6 point-gap.

    It's only 7 points to 4th.

You have to think about whether or not Utd can get 6 more points than all the teams above them. But also, it doesn't matter what they do if you can get the points on the board.

29 games left, usually 70-75 points will get you top 4. So realistically Utd need 60-64 points from 29 games, that's about 20 wins.

9 of those games are against the current top 5 + Spurs. Lets say you get 10-15 points out of 27 in those games.

That leaves you needing about 50 points from the other 20 games, there's a lot of tricky home and away fixtures in there Newcastle, Forest, Wolves, Fulham, Bournemouth, Everton etc.
Your then looking at having to win 14/15 out of 20 to make up those points.

It's not impossible for Utd to get a good run going under a new manager and win 5-10 games in a row, before the new manager bounce wears off.

Plus, we're still in the Europa League with plenty of games left and so perfectly good opportunity for the new manager to still win that competition and qualify for the CL that way.

I'll ignore the unnecessarily pathetic terminology used for the League Cup - apart from adding that I'm not sure why some fans nowadays feel the need to dismisss so many of the cup competitions and come up with silly schoolyard type names for them.

Looking forward to this hoping we win for what may be Ruud’s final match or two in charge before he possibly departs.

    Onana

Mazraoui - De Ligt - Martinez - Dalot

    Casemiro - Ugarte

    Amad - Eriksen - Garnacho

    Hojlund
subs: Bayindir, Lindelof, Evans, Amass, Collyer, Fletcher, B.Fernandes, Zirkzee, Rashford

score prediction: Manchester United 4-0 Leicester City

No chance Bruno doesn't play even if it's just for his work rate and Garnacho has not been great lately - too much of the play goes to him and he's shooting from odd positions that I'd rather see Rashford over him

That’s showing the Brighton vs Liverpool game?

    It shows multiple

I'm not sure you have a) understood how the Europa league now works or b) seen the remaining schedule we have

Reckon we will win tonight, the team will react and we are generally better than Leicester anyway.

Sorry, old bloke here…what does the red button mean? You can select different games?
It will come up at bottom right hand side of screen. Quite often has match choice by it, just press and then wait for them to load, scoll through the games and chose the one you want.

Sky Sports + (think it's just a fancy name for red button)
I think they might have actually ditched the red button...

I know you can't watch SS+ through Sky Go. I think you need a certain kind of box, NOW, or a Sky Glass TV.

Otherwise, you can watch it through the Sky Sports app on a mobile device.

It is still a red button, It showed up both on Sky Football (403) and Sky Sports + last night.

Would be fitting for ruud if someone scores a hat trick for United tonight

Most excited I’ve been for one of our games for bloody ages.
You’d have to think that Ruud will just remove the shackles tonight and tell them to go and have fun

Despite the gloom around United these past months (years?), tonight’s a magic moment for Ruud. Can’t imagine the emotions he must be going through, leading out the team he loves.

May only happen once if the new manager rumours hold true. Either way, I hope the players rise to the occasion and get a good result.

Just realised this isn’t on TV. Well that’s shit.

Looking forward to seeing how we set up and who makes the team.

Will be interesting to see if Ruud has been in harmony with EtH or if his ideas have been stifled and disregarded.

Nothing to lose for Ruud. The response from the players will be intriguing too. If we get one

Leicester away this season have lost twice. To Fulham 2-1 and Arsenal 4-2 the latter game was 2-2 with 93 minutes played. Not sure why some on this thread think United will get an easy win or hammer Leicester. With Ten Hag gone are the wasteful players who have missed more big chances than any other team this season suddenly going to find their shooting boots tonight?

For everyone discussing, the game is on Sky - you just need to choose it. They are showing all the games I believe.
