Why not start them against Leeds? They're both shoo-ins in their respective positions to be fair.
Neither have even trained with the team yet and the game is three days out, I think it would be very unexpected to see both start.
James is excellent against a team that pushes high

Come to think of it, Varane hasn't even been announced yet. Sancho could and probably should start considering Rashford is out.
It would be exciting to see him start but I suspect he will be on the bench. Hopefully he can be introduced in the second half against tired legs with the Reds cruising.

If Sancho is fit to play then James should be nowhere near the team.

James SHOULD be excellent against these types of teams.
But the truth is James is excellent about once or twice a season and there is little rhyme or reason to it. Hopefully it's LeedsThis will be a tough start for sure. I'm going with a 2-1 win for us. Leeds may not have been sparkling in preseason but neither have we and our first teamers have played 90 minutes or less in that time. I'm hoping our quality will see us through. Would love to see Sancho start but imagine he'll come on as a sub. Varane has no chance of playing in this, even as a sub, imo.I literally have no idea who will start as unsure of the squads' fitness levels. I just hope we see Edi & Sancho in some capacity.
The one other thing I really wish for, is for Ole to be brave with his substitutions early doors if the game isn't going our way.
