I think James is taking some bad grief in here but he's objectively struggling and breaking a lot of our good play down. I wouldn't be disappointed if he's hooked in the next half hour or so.Thing is, it requires a really, really good baller to even get into the positions Daniel James does. He's so VERY good at the middle product, the end product just keeps lacking. But he's doing his bit, he's putting a serious shift in and will be replaced by Sancho at half time.

Defensively yes, and in terms of stretching play. James does serve a tactical purpose. I do understand people being exasperated by his end product though. It's woeful.

Slagging off the lads is pointless. Try putting it into context - yes James is not our best player but we need a big squad and players happy to play a squad role. He give everything and it's the 1st game of the season and players aren't match fit.

Young fella? He is nearly 30 years old.Glad we managed to score first goal, but we look so shaky. It absolutely sucks to see Fred, McT and goddamned Dan James in the opening game. Pogba playing as a winger is also pretty horrible, despite the assist.
We need Sancho to come in, we really needed a midfielder and I would prefer to see some of our exciting youngsters to this underwhelming line-up.- Status
