TFM, Williams and James don't have the quality to be United players. Dalot is better than both and yet for some reason Ole doesn't seem to rate him.

Bailly and Fred have played well. Lingard and Ighalo have been okay, as has Maguire. The rest have been varying levels of poor.

That would work if it wasn’t for the standard of opposition
And they zero excuse for not being match fit, been able to train for a long time now.
Knowing that they might only get a couple chances to prove their worth they should be chomping at the bit and instead they serve up this

Huge difference between fit and match fit... Remeber how sluggish every team looked when they came back after the break? This is these players right now

Also, the fact that the standard of opposition is so poor and we're already 5-0 up means the foot will be off the gas. Its natural.

Think I know by now what to expect from our second string. Had some good opportunities on the counter and Fred, Lingard and Mata have shown some good touches but final ball has been awful. There's a reason most of these don't play.

Freds been good. We've had some really simple openings but ffs Mata is entirely useless these days. James is at least fast but also pretty useless on the left where he has to cut in. Use him on the right to just cross first time without thinking and he'll be better.

    Seriously though, that goalkeeper kit..

I had a few United goalkeeper kits when I played between the sticks over a decade ago and feck me.. that jersey is making me want to put my gloves back on

    It's so beautiful

Romero looks like a godamn butterfly out there

At least it fits properly! The red home kit looks at least one size too big on the players.

Bailly hasn't had a major brain fart as of yet, and also hasn't tried to kill anyone

Maguire needs to break the first line of defense more often, when he does it he's very dangerous, especially with Mata able to position himself in a separate pocket
    You mixed those two up.

That's absolute shite. Is he good enough to be starting week in week out for us? No. Would he start for the majority of the sides in the league? Yes.

Majority of teams in the league, are you taking the piss

People were saying to use James on the left where he'll be better and now you're saying he should be used on the right.

I'm beginning to think he's just kind of bad wherever he plays.

TFM looks nothing special as RB, McT was poor, Mata has problems to deliver with right foot and all of his the chances were suited for right footed player. Lingard has energy and is trying his best but that's all. James has speed and... speed. Brandon and Fred were decent. REst of the team half-decent.

Wild, wild levels of delusion there, my word.

Cleverley and Welbeck had more talent in their shin pads than Lingard and they didn't even get to a stage of being regulars for Watford.

Nothing game, as expected. I really hope Mata (cos he's finished here) and Fosu Mensah (cos he doesn't belong here) are among the outgoings this season. Put them out of their misery and refresh the squad. That said, from what I saw earlier, even this team can handle Copenhagen. The big boys can rest a little longer. On the bench insurance till the semi finals.

    They really didn't.

Lingard was better for the club than either of those 2 were easily.

Guy is trending off of how awful he is

I'm assuming by league, you must mean the Austrian Bundesliga. Because anything else would be damn right crazy.

Play Garner. He's an actual DM compared to Scott. This is an ideal time to give him minutes. No chance he costs us the tie. No fans to pressure him. Playing against a non-PL level side.

I'm hoping to see Greenwood too so he can statpad.

Romero was nearly caught off guard on one of there corners, but for the most part his positioning has been fairly good.

Fosu Mensah is a decent defender, and a brilliant athlete, but he gets nose bleeds when he gets into the oppositions half or has to make a progressive pass

Bailly hasn't had a major brain fart as of yet, and also hasn't tried to kill anyone

Maguire needs to break the first line of defense more often, when he does it he's very dangerous, especially with Mata able to position himself in a separate pocket

Williams hasn't had much to do, as they have attacked quite narrow, and on occasion down our right, offered little going forward

Fred has been our best player, tidy passer, positioning has been decent.

McTominay is looking frustrated, silly yellow card, should have done better when he got in behind.

Mata started off poor, improved when he moved infield. Technically brilliant but he looks rusty, and he's hardly a unit on the best of days

Lingard a couple of really nice touches and one really poor one that even will pile on because it's the meta, he looks fitter and sharper than most. Pressing well as usual but we need more from him.

James anonymous for the most part, his decision making needs to improve if he's to make it here, even as a squad player

Ighalo his hold up play has been OK, not great. I feel like he will be upset with the delivery he's been getting, but with the pace of James and Lingard, he could afford to drop deeper occasionally.
Just the kind of analysis I needed. Good look.

At least we can put the myth to rest that James has been played on the wrong flank. He is equally shit on either flank

People were saying to use James on the left where he'll be better and now you're saying he should be used on the right.

Oh he isnt great, but I always thought he was better on the right. He had a few good games on the left where he cut in and scored, but other than that he is shite on the left. Much more useful on the right where he can hold width and just cross it in.

That should be a reminder for all the people who criticised Ole for not rotating more during the run in. Dreadful, utterly dreadful. The players out there have one setting: sideways.

People got giddy off of our strong finish to the season. In truth, what we're seeing tonight is not unusual for Man Utd without Bruno and Pogba. We looked a lot like this for half the season when we were losing to Bournemouth and Watford and so on.

To think the other day someone actually made a thread claiming our second string was at Liverpool's level. Origi and Oxlade-Chamberlain etc would be running riot against such low quality opponents. LASK have actually looked the better team.

Would they? After not playing, apart from 5 minute spells here or there, for 6 or 7 months?

The lads haven't played competitive football since March! Of course they're going to be rusty.

And I think there is a phycological impact of Ole's words about the squads. I think its understandable to be down mentally after your manager has said that the first 11 is irreplaceable and that he can't trust you. And then he drives that point home by refusing to change players, even when they are terrible for three weeks in a row!

Lacks the fundamentals of a PL footballer. People saying he’s young just don’t get it. He’ll never be good enough. He fits my need a loan he needs to be sold.
