Rojo is back in training and Evans plays for the reserves... this is perfect news!! :D Definitely one of them should slot in for Blackett or maybe give Rojo 60-70mins and allow us to play 4-2-3-1.
Pretty sure Rojo is out for another month.
I hope we dont play 3-5-2, would rather Blackett played LB and valencia RB with Evans and Smalling at CB. I assume perma crock Rafael still isint fit as he didnt play for the reserves. Infront of that hope we go back to the diamond and bring Mata and Herrera in.

He might be out for another month but he's definitely back training. Probably he's on one of those light/no contact schedules.

    Falcao's first touch though

I'm not a fan of 3-5-2 by any means, but I think that I would rather have us play that with Ashley Young as wing back rather than have Blackett involved. He gives me nightmares at the moment and I don't think that he's ready for the first team at all. Would like to see WIlson given a start too but LVG is probably hoping that he can play himself into form. Hopefully we line up something like :

    ---------------Dave------------
    -----Smalling Evans Mcnair------
    Valencia-------------------Young
    ------Herrera Carrick Di Maria
    --------Rooney RVP/WIlson

Even though it's a home game against Hull I think van Gaal will start with the same eleven as he used against Arsenal.

    ------------------de Gea
    -------McNair--Smalling--Blackett
    Valencia---Carrick---Fellaini---Young
    -----------------Rooney
    ---van Persie------------Di Maria

    I would line up with:

    ------------------de Gea
    -------McNair--Smalling--Blackett
    Valencia---Carrick---Herrera---Young
    -------------------Mata
    ----Di Maria--------------Rooney

    ------------------de Gea
    -------McNair--Smalling--Blackett
    Valencia---Carrick---Herrera---Young
    -------------------Mata
    ----Di Maria--------------Rooney

Why do people do this? You don't shoehorn your best player into the XI, there is 0 sense in that.

I'd play a diamond and recall Evans and Herrera

    my team

    ---------------------DDG-----------------------
    Valencia------Smalling---Evans-------Blackett
    -------------------Carrick-------------------------
    ----------Herrera----------Di Maria--------------
    --------------------Mata--------------------------
    -----------Rooney-------Wilson------------------

Wilson deserves a chance and I doubt Rooney will play as advanced but I'd like to see this team.....maybe Fellaini will play instead of Herrera

    I don't get what you're saying..

"Best player"? To whom are you referring?
Or did you loose the "s" so it should say "best players"?

But then I still don't get what you're saying..
Do you think these are our best players? (Available players that is)
Or do you think that I think that this is our best eleven or our best players?

What is your concern about the line-up I've stated?

    My lineup would be:

    ---------------------DDG-----------------------
    Valencia/Rafael------Smalling---Evans-------Blackett
    -------------------Carrick-------------------------
    ----------Herrera----------Fellaini--------------
    Januzaj-----------------------------------------Di Maria
    -------------------Rooney------------------------

    ------Herrera Carrick Di Maria
    --------Rooney RVP/WIlson
A midfield trio of Herrera Carrick and Di Maria would give us the goals but would leave us exposed at the back, especially where Di Maria is. Di Maria needs somebody who can help him out defensively and Young can't do it alone. I would push Di Maria further up and place a much more disciplined player like Fellaini on his spot to provide some cover. Unfortunately that would leave Wilson out of the team. If RvP doesn't perform well in the 1st half then i would love Wilson to get the 2nd half.

Our defence will probably look like this
    -----McNair Smalling Evans(if match fit)/Blackett------

Even though Evans admitted he finds it hard playing a LCB , he's the only other CB we have who can at least use his left foot.

Thanks for the grammar lesson, but I meant as I said, our best player, and if you really can't figure out who that is (When it's probably out of 2/3 players at a push) and I said he was being played out of position, then it really is worrying.

It's quite simple, you don't shoehorn your best player into an XI. That means you do not play your best player out of position to accommodate the team, especially when you have equally as good replacements for the position you are trying to play him in.

    De Gea
    Rafael Smalling McNair Blackett
    Carrick
    Herrera Fellaini
    Di Maria
    Rooney Wilson

Just hope that united puts in a better performance than the one we had at home against palace.. win is a win but we should be doing it the united way, with dominance and authority at home. Except for qpr, in no other games has united finished the match comfortably.

    Dave
    Rafa, Smalling, Paddy, Blackett
    Carrick, Herrera
    Januzaj, Mata, ADM
    Rooney

    RVP should be benched.
"Robin Van Persies total of 13 touches during his teams victory over Arsenal, was the fewest by any Manchester United player in a single game for more than a decade. With 2 of the 13 touches taken up by a kick off and one corner" Shocking!

Hope to see Wilson get a start vs Hull.

Yeah Van Persie should be dropped for this, its painful watching him at the moment. He's rarely in the game and when he does get the ball he can't hold onto it. Wilson deserves a start and hopefully we will see Falcao back for Stoke.

    What I want to see:

    De Gea
    Smalling McNair Evans
Janko Herrera Fellaini Di Maria Young
    Mata
    Rooney

Bench: Lindegaard, Wilson, Falcao, Carrick, Blackett, Valencia, Januzaj

Dropping: RVP (He needs a rest and a reality check)
    More creativity: Herrera, Mata added.
Physical Presences: Fellaini, Rooney, Evans, Smalling, McNair
    Pace: Di Maria, Janko, Young

I would like to go with -

    -----------------------De Gea--------------------
    -Smalling-----McNair--------Evans------Young-

    ---------------------Carrick---------------------
    --------------Fellaini-------Di Maria-----------
    ----------------------Mata----------------------
    -------------Wazza---------Wilson-------------

We are at home - lets turn it back in to a fortress

Would love falcao to be given a start - would fancy him to get a goal or two and then that would hopefully be his season started..

I don't know why but im pretty convinced we're going to lose this game.

A good will go a long way in comforting me that we're actually making progress.

Not really, certainly not at will or with ease. It still happened occasionally of course as we were playing away to Arsenal. Do you expect to completely dominate them or something? They're still a top team, despite their inconsistent start to the season, and have some great players, so of course they'll get in behind us at times, as they do to everyone they play.

Yeah I guess your right. But i still think we could of limited it, by having a extra man in midfield, instead of at the back.

So you guys think you will be playing with wing backs as well? That'd be interesting because we play that system regularly and maybe us being more comfortable in it could give us a bit more of a prayer in this.

It would be a waste to play 3 CB's. I know Hull have played 3-5-2 quite a bit this season but I think they will only play 1 striker against us and it would be a real waste to have 3 CB's on the pitch. Play 2 and put Blackett at left-back.

We always play two up front so I can't see us changing that, it's just who will play alongside Jelavic. Either Hernandez or Ben Arfa in a similar role to Di Maria/Robben.

When we play with wing backs it always makes the game a close tight affair so I don't think it'd be the right way for you to play, in a way it's stooping to our level.

I haven't seen much of Janko but it seems like he's rated highly on here. Can some one please explain to me his strengths and weaknesses and whether he can keep Rafael out of the 1st team.

Yeah but away from home I would expect your 2nd striker to be deep with Jelavic on his own. I could be wrong as you're the Hull fan but I thought you changed back to four defenders vs Tottenham?

Also the Times didn't say Janko will start against Hull. That was just something made up on Twitter. If someone can get a link fair enough but I'm certain that was just twitter rubbish.

He is a monster physically, but he doesnt really strike me as a smart player, and I dont think he is really good on the ball. When I watch him he just often passes it sideways or backwards, but he does make good runs attackingly.

    ------------De Gea------
    Raf/Val-----Smalling---Evans---Young

My formation would be similar but with Carrick playing dm and Di Maria in Januzaj's position. I don't think the Herrera-Fellaini pairing is defensively sound.

We did that because we wanted to take the game to Tottenham but we've had success at the big teams this season with 5 at the back, so hopefully it will be back for this game. I do hope though that Bruce now plays 4-2-3-1 against teams similar to us as we have the talent now IMO.

The front two will stay up front with everyone else behind the ball. We are very defensive in these games.

Falcao is not available for this one?
Van Gaal said last week that he'll probably get 2 full weeks of training before he starts... Might be a sub mind you. More likely nothing on the weekend, a sub on Tuesday and then start vs southampton or the week after.

Thanks. I thought he was fine.

    I would go with

    -----------Carrick-----------
    Fellaini-------------Di Maria
    -----------Herrera----------
    Wilson---------Rooney-----

Di Maria doing his best job, Wilson to add another pacy player, Rooney up top, Herrera at the tip of the diamond. Worth a try, we're not playing with any plan anyway and this team has everyting- striker in form, proper number 10, Carrick not doing a lot of running as he likes, Fellaini for strength, Di Maria on the left side and two pacy players on both sides of the pitch.

As long as we win and we win very well I don't really give a damn who plays. However I really would Love to see Falcao if available get a handful .
