    My guess:
    De gea
    Darmian Jones Rojo Blind
    Herrera Pogba
    Mkhitaryan Rooney Lingard
    Ibrahimovic
Big squad, needs some rotation but strong enough core to win comfortably. Possibly Martial starting, but I hope to see him on the weekend. Plus lingard hasnt played in a while. Save Mata for the weekend.

Should just play a second string side for once. These games have been costing us dearly in terms of our performances in the league. I'd rest Valencia, one of Rojo/Jones, Herrera and Pogba (obviously Carrick is automatically excluded).

    Something like this:
    De Gea
    Darmian Jones Blind Shaw
    Schneiderlin Fellaini
    Mkhitaryan Rooney Young
    Zlatan

Terrible line up, but we should be prioritizing the league.

In terms of what we'll actually see, I'd guess something like this:

    ----------De Gea
    Darmian--Jones--Rojo--Blind
    -----Herrera
    ----------------Pogba
    Mkhitaryan--Rooney--Lingard
    ---------------Zlatan

We have to win this, no point going out of this competition at first hurdle against mediocre group opposition. It's not as if we have been going well in the league and playing second string players in this competition. We have just been equally as crap in both.
I do not believe we will win comfortably even if we played our strongest team, I can see us getting a hard fought 2-1 win but if we play a weak team I could see us losing especially if we do not get an early goal.

    Would like to see
De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Shaw, Schneiderlin, Herrera, Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Zlatan, Martial

He's fit, but I'd prefer having him against West Ham this weekend. He's 35 and won't be able to play 2 games in 3 days
He is perfectly fit to play 2 games in 3 days. He had a couple of weeks of just training. It is Zlatan ffs. ;)

Get out of the EL and say byebye to CL next season, its our biggest chance of getting in. (Which is quite little still but no way we'll make top4, just too many teams better than we are.)

Maybe, but I do think we can get top four (even though I'm in a small minority on this one). I think our performances of late have been encouraging -- an in form striker is the difference. So I guess I'm betting that Zlatan, Rashford and co will improve going forward.

As for the EL. We could win it, but it's just such a long and grueling competition with many very difficult sides still remaining. Plenty of the current group toppers would give us a very difficult game. Tomorrow's game is a must win in terms of qualifying, so we will play as close to a full strength side as possible (Carrick won't play). I just hope we don't suffer the consequences on Sunday. A six point gap is nothing at this stage of the league campaign (with 26 games to play).

Yeah, we still have a much better chance of getting top four than winning the Europa League. It's long, it's gruelling, it's full of really strong teams and a lot of those teams are specialists who prioritise it in a way that no English side ever can.

Plus our strong performances in the PL may not excuse the poor results but they suggest that those results will eventually pick up.

Lets agree to disagree, imo Chelsea, Liverpool, City, Arsenal are comfortabky better than us and the Spurs too probably. They wont neccesarily take us 1 vs 1 but they know how to win games and we dont, woth our weak forward line I just cant see it happen.

    Training squad:

De Gea, Romero, Johnstone, O’Hara, Valencia, Fosu-Mensah, Darmian, Jones, Rojo, Blind, Shaw, Herrera, Carrick, Fellaini, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger (ineligible), Pogba, Lingard, Young, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Memphis, Martial, Rooney, Ibrahim

Zlatan doing the pre match interview - does that mean he's likely to start?

Would like to see Martial or Rashford given a chance up top.

We saw how effective a Carrick/Herrera/Pogba midfield can be. Surely the best way to keep this going is to rotate Carrick and Blind. Blind is the closest thing we have to a player like Carrick.

I think he's a cert to start. He's not had a game for nearly 3 weeks so will be ready. Jose's team selections in the Europa have certainly shown how importantly he is treating this competition, even if the performances haven't shown it! I expect us to be at full strength tomorrow

Don't want to sound like a fun-draining fairy but it says a lot about the state of our squad when players are practising secret handshakes like they're in high school. Maybe I'm just a bit too uptight though. Says a lot about the media as well.

I think people would like them to practice actually putting the ball in the net before practising the afters.

Feels like I'm saying this before every game, but I honestly feel it's gonna click soon. Someone's gonna get a right pumping. Hopefully Feyenoord. So I predicted 0-0.

I swear sometimes Lingard is only kept to be all matey round Pogba to keep him happy!

It'd be classic us to win 5-0,and not have the goal difference really make much odds, when we really need to start adding some in the league.

On a more serious note, thank goodness this cup is getting to make or break time. In a group you always know you can piss about a bit, but do that tomorrow, and we face the embarrassment of not even getting through this group!

I know a certain French number 9.5 who can do that far more effectively :D

Not to be picky but we only need to win by 2 clear goals to finish above them if both sides are level on points.
I say 3 goals because that would calm the nerves even if they scored one, to avoid the panic that would set in if it got to 2-1 with 20 minutes left. But yes, 2-0 would be good enough, provided the last game (away :() goes in our favour.

Top 4 is easier than winning the EL.
The same rhetoric was spoken last season when apparently the EL was so easy to win, we could do so at whim.
We then got beat by Mitjyland and then went out to LFC. Had we made it past LFC, we'd got hammered in our next game.
In the EPL however, we almost got 4th place, losing out on goal difference.
The opponents in the later stages of the EL are high quality and as we saw in our EL games thus far, our players don't seem interested in this competition.

I will quote someone else: relying on winning the EL is like relying on the lottery to pay your rent at the end of the week.

Is it not just Pogba and Lingard who do that sort of thing?
Lingard is quite juvenile, though, so it's to be expected.

    Win by 2 goals?
Feyenoord beat us last time around, so wining will not be easy, especially if they decide to park the bus.

As of this season is last season, there are numerous clubs better than us and we have been getting worse results during the course of the season. Imo we have no chance of getting top 4 and small chsnce of getting EL. Realistically City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool are comfortably better and Spurs probably too on the PL.

A good atmosphere is key to a successful side. With Mourinho's history, it's always a worry the he'll lose the dressing room. Seeing players happy can only be a good thing imo.

Weird if that's the squad, no defenders on the bench?

Yeah but if say we draw at Zorya and Feyenoord beat Fenerbahce on last matchday, both of us and Feyenoord will have 10 points and then head-to-head is first tie-break criteria. Mind you, if Fenerbahce win today and lose last match, then we all 3 will be tied on 10. For that scenario we are already well placed though to go through if all 3 are tied on 10 points.

The MEN said that Pogba is at the hotel so must catch them there, and Blind is living near the hotel too. So maybe both were already there.

Regarding Martial and Shaw it's probably more Mou's choice
