Team looks to be severely lacking confidence. I don't like to talk about the crowd cause I'm not there but it really can't be helping. It's so quiet and everyone is nervous, you can tell it influences the players, like a negative feedback loop. Feels like a lot of the confidence we gained from our improved performances is slowly dissipating.

Decent half for the most part. We are fully controlling the game and creating a few chances. Just need to tighten up some of the easy passes, and then look to quicken things up.

agreed, thought we played well overall. thread seems to be overreacting.

Mata has been an absolute key to anything happening. If he's not involved the attack is ending with either a Valencia cross or lost possession.

As it stands we're through and with 3 at the back the wing backs can still attack as they like. It's a game of patience.

Why the feck are three of our center backs standing in a straight line when we have the ball. One needs to be deep whilst the other two move up. It's so inefficient

We've been really poor since the Liverpool match in early January. More of the same today. We've gone back to how we were playing earlier this season.

Got 0-1 Rostov written all over this

Need to take a defender off and get Rashford on

    Second half will be better,

Rostov had a game plan. Get to half time 0-0, second half they will come out and begin to attack more, opening up the game for us. Rashford will come on after 60-70 minutes and half freedom of the pitch when Rostov push forward and play more openly.

People calling for us to sub a CB are being very naive. We will need them when Rostov play more attacking and counter with more purpose in the second half

To be honest, I'm past caring if we play lovely football or not - all I want is for this lot to get their shooting boots on and fast!

Why are our players so impotent in the final third though? Surely our coaches should make this a top priority to sort out?

This 3 at the back thing is not working for me. In a game where you dominate, it's enough to have two centre backs. Smalling's role in this game is minimal.

Pogba has been better tonight than the last few months.

Still had some poor moments but his confidence will be low. Not going to turn it around in 45 minutes.

Not much to really say about that first half.

Feels like we see the same game every week.

Loads of possession, waste good chances, their keeper plays well. Same old same old.

And usually we concede the goal in the second half.

I would swap Blind for Young now to attack and cross better

We are so shite, it actually hurts me to see us play.

No penetration at the flank or centrally. No desire to take charge and no determination from the players to make something happen. Only crosses and side passes. No creativity at all.

Horrendous half. Barcelona and Bayern are week in, week out playing against teams with this approach and yet they manage to make something happen (Barcelona has struggle a bit this season, but still). That's why we are so much behind the top 3 teams in world. We can't barely create a huge chance.

Another half of failure to take any chance, therefore making a completely shite team look good.

No invention, very predictable and slow transition. The story of the last few years at this club.

Thought we did quite well, just the final pass and finishing lacking. But that´s been our problem all season.

Also like how our centre-backs are set up. Smalling covering for Bailly and Rojo in the centre allows them to push forward aggressively and attack the opponent when we lost the ball, which lead to many ball recoveries for us to sustain possession and keep attacking.

Best thing that could happen for him is a goal. Could reinvigorate him and be a big boost to our season.

Yes, but the scoring ratio for free kicks, for anyone, even the very best, these days is what? 1 in 50? A bit less maybe? Not many free kicks get scored these days.

Even players like Beckham, who was really good at them, 1 in 20? What about Ronaldo, very rarely scores one these days.

If he wants to get his confidence back, it's by controlling the ball, tackles, dribbles, killer passes. Not from free kicks.

Couldn't care less if we don't score tonight so long as Rostov don't either. Just need to get through these 45 minutes.

That being said...we will nick one I think. We ain't been too bad.

Rostov are atrocious and we can't score.

Ibrahimovic can be called unlucky but Mkhtaryan's was piss poor attempt. Like we were 4-0 up and not 0-0 second leg of a european shit-tie.

Am I the only one who thought we played well? We created numerous chance (Zlatan*2, Rojos header and Mhikis one on one with the goalkeeper) but as most times this season we failed to capitalize on those chances.

agreed, thought we played well overall. thread seems to be overreacting.

No, it's not an overreaction. A good move by Rostov and a goal will put this United team under pressure and there is a good possibility that these players will run around like headless chickens like in the Bournemouth game.

Annoying game so far. Should have scored a couple already, but other than that I think it has been very a frustrating match. We should stop trying to cross in to the box since we are outnumbered 5 to 1 pretty much all the time. Want to see more from Mkhitaryan and Pogba!

What the flying feck! How havent we scored? Please dont be that kind of the day where we miss chance after chance and Opposition gets a goal and we then struggle to get one.

Crowd moaning at everything, while being worst part of this football game...fecking graveyard, not sure why they even came to the game. There is more sound in vacuum then in OT and no,players dont need to give you reason first,so you can create some atmosphere.
