«Who’s the biggest Man Utd fan in the squad? And which team does he play for tonight? Hear who the players nominate, and what the “winner” has to say”

Wow. Not sure why they’re doing this, but they makes it seem like we’re playing a friendly against a pub side, not a QF in an important European Competition. Weird, and quite unprofessional in my opinion.

 he comes to training wearing a United jersey.

Lighten up chump, nothing wrong with that. It's their biggest game ever and they're not robots.

Daramy starting up front. Let’s see how good he is. A brilliant performance without any goals or assists leading to us signing him on the cheap will do me fine :)

 I read that the wrong way round. Was wondering how a 3-2-4-1 formation would do

Genuinely don't feel confident in Romero. I think he gets better in people's imaginations the longer he stays on the bench. DeGea makes mistakes but he's still more reliable IMO.

Romero is not spectacular but he is steady, better sweeper and commands his area better.

This is the sort of minor rotation that Ole should have been doing on the run in.

Sure, I understand that many of them support other teams than FCK. But for the club to make a “fun” interview about it before their biggest game ever (?), is weird timing to say the least. It’s nothing wrong with it I guess, but FCK are proud of being the biggest club in Scandiville (after Rosenborg’s fall from grace), and this doesn’t really represent that.

Did United end up putting their line out early ? Game I thought was 20:00 UK time but, the announcement came out at 19:45.

    Positives:

    1. Fred is finally given a chance to play with the first team since the restart
    2. James is dropped out of the squad
    3. Bailly starts ahead of Lindelof
    4. De Gea is benched, although Romero normally starts in Europa but this game includes all first choice players so this is a good early sign

Ooh, looks like we're going for it. Great opportunity for Fred. Hope Bailly doesn't get a silly card or get himself injured.

Wow didn't notice that, and I didn't know he play for Copenhagen either :wenger:

Must be nice for him tonight though, glad that he still has a career out there.
Bet he wishes the game was held at OT. Would have been lovely for him to step out there one last time. Least he’s still playing against us in a European competition.

My bet is on Greenwood tonight. He loves to score in those EL matches.

Sure thing, most of us still like him I think. He had some good matches with us, especially the one against Arsenal where Rashford had his debut and scored the double. I still remember his crosses.

Totally agree, I hope Ole learnt a lot in those games after lockdown. Fred will give us some hustle and bustle in midfield, and hopefully plug some of those gaps that Matic and Pogba left in the games they played together. I like Bailly in as well, rate him a better defender than Lindelof, more like a Vidic type of player. I can see all 5 subs being used. We'll see how they perform after a lot of them have had a little break.

For me, bar De Gea that is my preferred and possibly strongest lineup. Very happy with that. Very happy indeed. Well done Mr. Solskjaer!

I really hope Fred is focused tonight and gives us a solid performance, Bailey too.

James Lingard and Mata probably wont set foot on the pitch tonight. Lovely.

I don’t really understand why some people think Ole won’t play the strongest team. What is your reasoning? Seems like an easy 11/11 prediction as our strongest team. We have had 2 weeks off with most of the players likely having a couple of days on the beaches after Leicester.

I felt it in my loins.

Fred and McSauce are equal calibre of player and have the same function, so I’m perfectly fine with that despite going for McTominay myself. However, unless Lindelof is injured, Bailly’s selection is strange. Keep a consistent backline, especially for a European quarter final.
Not strange. Ole needs to play the backups like Romero, Bailly and Fred in important games.

We'll see how Fred performs with our first choice front three, instead of our back up strikers (Ighalo, James and Mata, plus Lingard). Perhaps his pass rate will improve with better players making better choices of movement.

The cup goalkeeper and energetic replacement for an aging midfielder yes. But Lindelof? Doesn’t make sense.

    Moaning bingo begins.

I don't care about the Europa.

If we don't win against this lot.....

    Surprised at that selection...

    Feel free to add

As @A-man said... An opportunity to play back up players in an important match. Good for squad morale /showing these players they're valued. SAF would do the same.
