I never referee Newcastle games. We have to declare if we have an allegiance to any club or if a family member works at a club,” Oliver said in an interview with the Daily Mail in 2021, when Newcastle were fighting relegation. “You can’t do any match involving that team and I can’t do Sunderland, either, for obvious reasons.
Because Newcastle are invariably involved in a relegation battle, when you get to March or April, it means I can’t referee anyone around them towards the bottom three. If Newcastle needed a point to survive and the team they were fighting to get above was say Villa, I couldn’t referee Villa’s game either.
I wouldn’t want to. It’s not worth the hassle
Eriksen returning is such a massive boost. With Casemiro back as well, I feel another big run of results is coming. A lot of our poor form can be blamed on these two massive pieces missing.
It will also be interesting to see who he replaces when he comes on.5 of our games after tomorrow are away - it's definitely going to be a massive boost to have both back for them. Be interesting to see if/when Eriksen comes on tomorrow, hopefully it's after we are comfortable to just help build his match fitness.
Nice one. I'll never forget my first game. 0-0 vs Newcastle in 2004 for my birthday at Old Trafford.Over for this one for the first time in a while and have my young lad with me for his first OT experience. Can't wait.
It is dodgy, but I think Newcastle will be more worried about Liverpool, Spurs and Brighton than they are about us, we’re getting too 4, no question. They need to make sure they get that last spot so they better hope Oliver starts refereeing the teams in 5th, 6th and 7th.How is this any different than them being in a battle for top 4 with us? Why hasn't he asked out of this one? We are definitely fecked tomorrow.
If we can win this, it’ll put a lot of pressure on the 3pm games
Brentford v Newcastle
Spurs v Brighton
Over for this one for the first time in a while and have my young lad with me for his first OT experience. Can't wait.
It'd be a huge win and give us breathing room, hopefully Brentford and a draw then to make a perfect weekend. If we can win this, it’ll put a lot of pressure on the 3pm games
Brentford v Newcastle
Spurs v Brighton

It's an added incentive, for sure.Come on lads, would love to help send this lot down.

LVG, Jose, Jose, Ole, Ole, Ole, RalfI'd assume LVG, Ole, Rangnick and Mourinho based on the years.
