It's a theatrical fall but also a penalty because his leg was in between Martial's legs.

Looks like he got the ball as well from one angle. If that was Sadio Mane against Valencia, 99,98% on here would say it’s a dive. Difficult for the ref indeed.

Oh Great now we're probably gonna lose now. Stats come up as Jose never lost while scoring first. Watch this team screw it up :nervous:

So? He (and Martial) just got us ahead. People's first thought shouldn't be "shit pen". It's a joke really.

It was a shit pen though. Very lucky to even get that rebound. He's a good enough player without having to resort to that kind of tomfoolery.

Fred shoots from 25 yards but it's wide.
Just me or does Rashford seem off today? Doesnt chase, reacts slowly, often second to balls.

I think so. Certainly in this case it shouldn't be a penalty.. But it's impossible for the ref to not give that - I didn't notice the touch until the 3rd or 4th replay.
If you don't change the direction of the ball, how can you possibly be considered to have won the ball?

I bet everyone agreed that Smalling's foul (+ yellow) was correct, because he touched the player on the way to the ball.

The only difference is that Smalling actually won the ball and went on a forward run with it, yet somehow that's much more of a foul than Gueye grazing the ball while tripping Martial and preventing him going for goal.

    Fred is doing well

Great touches of the ball. Is there any way we can keep that throughout a whole season?

Gary Neville has been chatting shite all game

Martial is looking really lively, as is Pogba.

We're at our best when these two are on song.

And Fred is very forward minded. Mata is a waning force, but his clever footballing brain is still intact.

I hope we persist with this for awhile, though I feel Rashford is a weak link. It's not much in terms of options, but Lingard when he returns might be better than Rashford there.

This has been good. We have a lot of quality in this team but don't channel it enough.

Martial and Pogba excellent. These are the two to build the team around.

Glad Fred is playing. I like him.

    38 min

Chance for Everton as Coleman gets forward down our left again and picks out Sigurdsson 14 yards out. He has to go for a diving header and can't get enough power or direction to beat De Gea and it's easy in the end for the Spaniard.
