I think he got the ball, I would have to look at replays again. But when you lunge in like that you're asking for trouble.

    Strange game.

Everton have looked so subdued. I had a feeling Baines would miss that penalty. Looked like he'd rather be somewhere else.

Everton did not deserve 1:1 tbh.We just need to cut with some unforced mistakes which gives them a chance to return into the game.

Shaw has looked good up until that daft tackle. Looked like he may have took a bit of the ball but still, sliding in like that on a player in the box is mental. Otherwise, good half. Rafael has been awesome down the right. Valencia has been quite solid and Blind has done well.

The commentators are saying "clean penalty" but fukk me if Shaw didn't get to the ball first cleanly. Easy to spot on replay.

Valencia waits too long with the ball but we play well in general. Hope Mata can become a bit more influential in the 2nd half

We've been very good. Defense has been great finally, midfield kept the game going, our forwards had few chances but didnt score. We need a 2nd and I think that would be that cause Everton is shit.

Anyone fancy Wilson coming in the second.

We need another couple. Everton have been shit and wouldn't have deserved that, but they'll come out stronger. Falcao needs to up it.

Everton look really poor, hopefully we put these to bed early in the 2nd half.

Excellent save, we were foolish to allow them a way back in so late in the 1st half. I was worried something was going to happen a those last few minutes. Thankfully we got away with it, haven't had much luck holding onto leads recently.
We need to be sharper and more ruthless going forward so that we can increase our lead and close the game out.
Overall it's been a good display, especially considering our injury problems.

I'm so confused. I think I must be losing my sight then?
Shaw touched the ball i thought?

Paul Scholes said its a penalty and no one has more experience then him in terms of reckless tackles.

We need to score another as soon as possible! Can't get comfortable until then! We need to concentrate and get this result.

Fecking McManaman, "maybe he did get the ball yeah, but it's still a penalty for me". I hate that cnut so much

Shaw got the ball, but I guess it's hard to see -- and when in doubt, the refs call against us every time.

    Well that was very enjoyable.

United's football is getting well back to what it used to be. Passing is quick and accurate. Defending as a team, looking forward to seeing what it is like in second half of the season.

Don;t understand why Everton have had such a bad start to the season, they also pass the ball very well.

It's very different to what it was under Fergie. Fergie always relied on the ball being carried forward, either by wingers or strikers while the midfield would sit and distribute.

This team is much more fluid, with players looking to pass and move at a far higher pace. The onus is on giving the player with the ball multiple options and looking ahead to give his options an option should he receive the ball.
