Mourinho explains team selection
Jose Mourinho has been asked about the absence of Luke Shaw and Paul Pogba ahead of the match.
“Yeah, rested, he told Sky Sports. “I gave a rest to Luke (Shaw) to Paul (Pogba), to Victor (Lindelof), to (Antonio) Valencia, to David (de Gea). I give a rest to these factors. I knew I couldn’t give much more, I know I have to play a very good team.”
That's an interesting theory, maybe after the latest Pogba news Mourinho is going to start Pereira over him on Saturday, I doubt it but given the circus at play right now it's not impossible.We're going to struggle to score in this game given that our only goal threat will be from Lukaku.Why is Pereira not even on the bench? Why wasn't Chong/Gomes not even on the bench?FFS 7/11 , stronger team out than I expected.Moderately surprised to see Matic & Lingard start this. Think they should (IMO) be on the bench and the likes of McTominay & Fred get more exposure, or Sanchez just try and play his way into form. 9/11 for me though, the rest was predictable.
On a side note, I've just realised that the coach I saw during my lunch hour was the United coach. I work right next to the Lowry Hotel and never realised it was that one that the players meet at. I'm going to have to try and get some autographs in the future!

Were you around last season? We’ve literally just experienced a season where you focus on your main trophies whilst watching your rivals winning them, whilst we were also rans. It was utter misery aside from nearly winning the cup.
You concentrate on us finishing sixth in the league, whilst the club makes a good fist of the rest of things.
Is it ever anything contrary?
