I expect a hard game as Palace will play with nine men behind the ball most of the time. They're low on confidence, can't score and aren't exactly one of the best defensive teams yet (I say yet, as I think Roy will make them harder to beat, but it's the other end which will dictate if they can start getting points). We're going to be missing more players than I thought we would, but this is most definitely a game we should clear even when using squad players.
Pogba, Carrick, and Jones look almost certain to be out, with big doubts on Fellaini. Martial also got that knock last night, though I think he'll be fit enough to make the bench personally. He got himself off the pitch pretty promptly. As for players coming in, Herrera looked like he hadn't been out of the side at all and Chris Smalling hasn't put a foot wrong in any of the games he's started, so there's absolutely no issue with them starting this game. Valencia hasn't been mentioned at all as far as I'm aware, so I'd imagine he was just rested and plays on Saturday. Young & Mkhitaryan being subbed says they start for me:
de Gea
Valencia Bailly Smalling Young
Herrera Matic
Mata Mkhitaryan Rashford
Lukaku
---
Romero; Blind, Darmian, Lindelof; McTominay, Lingard; Martial
The staring XI almost picks itself, we can go with Valencia and Young at home to Palace as our most offensive available full backs (until Shaw is more fit). The bench is a bit more difficult as if Fellaini is fit enough then he has to be on there. I'd expect McTominay to make the squad if not, as we have a surplus of fit defenders despite Jones' injury, but there's always the chance Tuanzebe or Shaw get in too. One of them will have to if Martial is actually out, which will make it difficult to change the game if it isn't working.
Just one of those matches, once we get the first goal we should make them crumble, but it'd be typical for them to get their first point here with a really determined defensive display. Pivotal we put pressure on Chelsea and City though, big chance of a draw there I reckon.
