Think we're looking to throw the kitchen sink at them and then close it early. C'mon United

The Rooney fan boys will love this. Anything to accommodate Sir Rooney at the expense of more deserving players. Have no fear, he is our Messi. May he sign a new deal for another 10 years.
Well it's not like we've had any midfield player stand out this season.

Well it's not like we've had any midfield player stand out this season.
And our solution is Rooney? It's either the coaching staff are mad or just crazy. He does not even deserve to start, let alone in midfield. It's the stupid privilege thing, it will be the end of us.

Is a joke that Rooney has to play in midfield just to accommodate him and even a bigger crime or indictment on our recruitment that the drop off in quality is not that much.

Why the obsession with Rooney starting? Mata and Darmian should be nowhere near our starting line up on 2016 form.

Rooney possesses porno photos of LVG in compromising positions!

    He's always in the line-up!

    :D:D:D

To be fair Rooney in central midfield is better than any other option we have.

Oh there is mate. Few pages back on the Rooney forum, someone said he deserves a place cos he has the quality to score a goal like he did against Newcastle.

    Yikes.

Everyone who can play in one of his positions is currently playing better than him. I don't know how his immediate return can be justified. He was in a bit of form prior to the injury to be fair, but he should still have to win his place back like everyone else.

Tbf, he earns as much as Messi and Ronaldo, so he should be starting. That seems to be the logic behind his selections.

Just seen the team. Who's playing alongside Schneiderlin in midfield? Bizarre selection.

Top four is very achievable after City's draw and Arsenal's recent form.

Everton have a massive game tonight also. We should be beating this current Everton side at Wembley.
Top 4 is a load of shit unless we are actually building a team to win the champions league. And, if we get top 4 I'd bet any money Van Gaal would stay so we won't be doing that.

The FA cup is all we have left this season. Top 4 would be a long term disaster.

At this point as long as Martial and Rashford(and obviously De Gea) are starting I am fine with everything else. No one else has cemented their place.

So this is apparently the answer?

Thought he'd finally stopped with the incredibly imbalanced midfield selection.

So are we going with a barca style 4-3-3 with schneiderlein in the biscuits position and 2 of mata lingard and Rooney ahead of him or the lvg 4-3-3 (4-2-3-1) with Rooney next to schneiderlein? Very attacking 11

So you mean we'll end up throwing a sponge at them and then hold out for a 1-0 win from around the 55min mark?

Our midfield is not looking well but I believe we can win this.

Is Rooney actually midfield? Could be Rooney up top, with Martial, Mata and Lingard behind? Could be wrong as havent read the thread, just saw the team.

Are all the people complaining about Rooney in midfield the same who said he had a great first half against Villa, and voted him the fourth best player on pitch?

Come on, he's not that bad in midfield, I'm more concerned about:
    1) Martial and Rashford not getting rest
    2) Mata in the lineup
    3) Darmian at LB against Palace's pace
    4) Rojo being potentially rested against Everton, where he'll be up against Coleman+Deulofeu
