Apparently Ole has used the words "Hopefully not gone for long" which he used for Pogba Rashford and McT injuries too

The last thing we need at this stage of the season is another striker out of action, especially Martial who's been scoring freely of late.

I swear our club is cursed.

Hope it's not too much too early for Scott. Interesting to see how Ighalo will fare. I take it their pacey striker Dennis is not playing, which is a bit of a relief.

Hope to see Bailly build on his Chelsea performance. He really could make a better duo with Maguire.

Okay Martial is officially unreliable!!! Back on that Dembele transfer train

    Not cursed.
If you hire the right people, everything will work just fine.
MCFC did this and look how well they have been doing during the last decade.
We hired an elite level manager and got 2nd.
    It's not rocket science.

In our case, we have staff in almost every position in the club, who should be replaced.

On a positive note, I expect us to get an easy win today and we will progress through to the next round. Our defence is VERY strong and our attackers have been doing well, recently.

And not the first time for Martial where he goes into some kinda good form and then gets injured immediately

Got 9/11. Wasn't expecting Mata or James to start this one. Will be interesting to see what this line up can do. At least all the Martial haters get a night off tonight.

Not playing Greenwood whilst Martial and Rashford are out is asking for trouble. That team has what 10 goals in it all season? Can only presume Mason did pick up a knock in the last match and Ole would prefer to get through this one without him. Season would feel gutted if we went out of Europe at this stage.

I really hope this Martial injury is nothing serious and it’s just us taking a precaution.

It's been a strange one, how little he's played despite his ability and our lack of options, but I seem to recall Ole saying he's been ill. I could be wrong..

i'd rather perreira than chong on the bench and williams over shaw at left back.

No Martial, no Matic, inclusion of Mata, no DDG, and jury is still out on Bailly. There's a lot of question marks for a knockout, 2nd leg.

Martials injured, it’s questionable (read:wrong) that Matic is better than McTominay. And Mata is fully justifiable over our next best option of Greenwood. JFC, I thought you were joking.

I’ve generally thought Greenwood isn’t quite ready despite his (unsustainable) goal contribution. He had one of his better games against Watford though.

Ultimately though, a clean sheet and we’re through tonight.

Good team, should be enough to go through.
Greenwood on the bench is a good move, need a striker on the bench.
Ighalo has experience and this is a perfect game to start him in.

Too bad about Martial, hope it isnt a serious injury.

Not sure Greenwood has played through the middle so far this season from the start? Can't recall. Doesn't strike me as a 'leading the line' type. So maybe you argue you put him wide right, but giving Mata a chance against this opposition feels sensible.

Ighalo won't last the match, so he's virtually guaranteed to be on.
