Get back to playing 2 in the middle rather than McTominay who leave us with zero control of the midfield.

We need to tighten up the midfield. Our defense and keeper are under constant threat, ofcourse they are going to eventually concede in a game.

Why do we bother sharing probable line-ups when everyone knows ETH will pick his favourites as always?
This will be another loss. If we get hammered, I think he would be gone.

Not pretties line up but let's have one that will show some heart and desire and work their socks off and press instead of bruno, rashford and martial.

Why's everyone out of position?

We probably won't be able to cope with Chelsea's intensity. Any team that can out work us (which is most of the PL) dominates us easily. Sterling, Jackson, Mudryk, Caicedo and Gallagher will be all over us like a bad rash.

Our only hope will be to target their slow CBs (Silva and Disasi) with Højlund/Garnacho's pace. Forget about the midfield because Caicedo/Enzo will control it with ease. Will Ten Hag be out thought tactically once more? Poch is a very good manager, i think he'll have Ten Hag figured out in no time. Honestly i have no confidence going into this game.

chelsea are pretty much as bad as us but we'll make them look like European champions... I'm no longer confident we can win any game

    Bayindir

    Bissaka - Varane - Maguire - Shaw

    Amrabat - Mainoo

    Antony - Bruno - Garnacho

    Hojlund

That’s what we should opt for, with Rashford not selected for match day squad.

For how shit Chelsea are made out to be, and despite their general profligacy, they don't seem to be having too much trouble beating a side that's largely had our number for the past 2 years.

If it was one issue then I'd have some confidence that it could be fixed fairly quickly...but it feels like every aspect of the team is either lacking talent, effort or injured.

So picking a team is not an easy task. Maybe just go back to basics and not try to compensate for other players lacking...so no more McTom in midfield because he can grab a goal for the inept attack.

    ---------------- Onana ----------------
    ABW - Varane - Maguire - Shaw
    - Bruno - Amrabat - Mainoo -
    Antony - Hojlund - Garnacho

If this idiot starts Mctominay AND Bruno ahead of a Mainoo or Amrabat then he should be ejected from Old Trafford before the game starts.

We are winning this because Ten Hag needs to save his job. And they are just as bad as we are, if not worse. And they’ve lost Gallagher, which is massive for us. We also have the home advantage and a day longer to rest.

    1:0 win.

Chelsea aren't as bad as people make out. Rightly favourites for this.

Chelsea are on the up, putting in better performances, a young team starring to gel with a consistent selection in most areas. We are the polar opposite, I think we need a refresh, I'd throw a few youngers inside, losing is fine with me as long as we are working to something great and playing the way we should. Too many players have had too many chances.

Bayinder - needs match fitness, onana needs a bit of fear
Dalot - better of the two right backs
Maguire - in form keeps his place
Varane - is our best CB, we need his ball playing abilities at the back
Shaw - inverted left back, we desperately miss his role here.
Amrabat - I feel like he's taken a lot of stick, probably right has he aint been great. I think hag has him playing as someone he aint. The guy is a hoover, he should jist be shielding the back 3/4, and playing a simple pass to a midfielder in a better position or when it arrives, the killer ball to striker. At the moment, he looks lost.
Mainoo - can't play with Scott, has a tonne of talent. Good enough then you old enough, he needs to play the 8 but needs a shield behind.
Mejbri - ideally would have him and mainoo in the middle but as Mount is injured, he plays here. Has shown he can do a job, high energy, good at the press, will work hard with Hojlund
Bruno - on the right. Everyone else is performing badly, pellistri is the back up until amad comes back.
Garnacho - left, been good recently
Hojlund - needs support, needs people passing and crossing balls. Always does a graveyard shift for us.

If this becomes and end to end basketball type match I actually think Chelsea will win this.

Gallagher red I assume means they'll move Palmer to number ten position and bring in Mudryk for the counters.

You just need to low block them and scramble a 1-0 or something which has happened pretty regularly this season.

Chelsea win this and they go two points off Man. United in the table and they started this morning in the bottom half so this is where the season can go dangerously pear-shaped for Man. United.

It feels like we've just gone so far backwards from last year, just trying to fix small minor problems like someone's left foot in defence. It's like that Father Ted episode where he gets a minor ding on the car, tries to tap it out but by the end the cars a wreck. Father Ten Hag is not a good look, especially as he seems to have taken to wearing Father Jack's hat (google it, it's uncanny).

Just go back to what we did back then, it was working and stop trying to be clever

    Onana
Dalot, Varane, Lindelof or Maguire, Shaw
    Amrabat, Mainoo
    Antony Fernandes Garnacho
    Hojlund

Away with the lazy feckers. Hannibal, Pellistri, AWB, Reguilon, Hugill if we need subs. I know it won't happen, but it bloody should.

Worst case scenario bring on Martinez in a wheelchair using the fake arms trick.

Interesting one this. If we lose this one I think it’ll be a real nail in ETH’s coffin.

Home or away I struggle to see past a defeat, whoever the opposition may be but I do think this may be the first draw of the season.

All I know for sure is Rashford will start and be utter shit.

The boss will say we are progressing or some such nonsense.

At this point I’m struggling to even care about this cluster feck of a team and manager.

    1-1

Hard to care. One of them matches that they'll probably be up for, sneak a win, then not try against Liverpool.

    Onana
Wan Bissaka - Maguire - Varane - Shaw
    Mainoo - Amrabat
    Antony - Fernandes - Garnacho

Rashford and Martial never ever to wear the jersey again.

This team picks itself after the last few matches. Probably lindelof for Varane though
