I just don't want to finish behind Newcastle United, just another thing to beat us over the head with, just scraping in ahead of media darlings Liverpool.

What the feck does it matter? At all.

Nobody will remember if we finished third or fourth come July, never mind next season. As long as we get CL qualification it makes zero difference.

Might be a stupid question, but after the match going into manchester center, is there any chance of beeing attacked by Chelsea fans? Like does this happens from time to time?
You’ll be fine. I walk to OT from the city centre and back in my United stuff almost every match day and never once had an issue with any oppo fans. Then head to the pub etc.

The worst I get is heckling from City fans, but it’s usually good natured to be fair anyway.

Eh I don't really care. We are guaranteed to finish the season with more wins than them despite having really no CF. Congrats on their 13 draws (7 of them being the boring scoreless kind) and their loss in the League Cup to us.

Hoping we really go for the kill tonight and hammer them while they’re on the low. And give us a bit of a confidence boost leading up to the final.

Can’t believe I’m so nervous about this one, but am. Just want to get the result needed at a minimum. Last thing we need is going into final match of season needing a draw.

    Come on United!

Nice, thanks. I am thinking about walking back as we did that last time and beeing stuck waiting for a tram forever dont seems optimal.

same. Just been nervous something will go wrong with how close so many games have been down the stretch. Stupid firmino and villa couldve finished the job and made everything so easy. Last thing i want is to have to get any result from the last game. Easy to say well we will get a draw against fulham, but they played us strong last time. Something stupid happens and they get an early goal or something and then boom things go to shit for us. Finish it today and rest players for the final/give players their stupid ass send off who we dont want back.

It doesn’t really matter. There isn’t a huge difference in prize money when finishing either 3rd or 4th. Plus the old format doesn’t exist like it used to be in terms of the 4th placed team would need to play a two leg qualifier in order to qualify for the group stages.

A Manchester United supporter: Would sure like to win and finish above as many sides as possible!

A fellow Manchester United supporter: Who gives a feck?

if you don't finish first....who gives a fuk all if you finish 3rd or 4th as long as you make the top 4 and get into the CL

It's really weird how aggressively some supporters react to the idea of preferring 3rd over 4th.

Still a big game tonight. Don't want to go in the the final game needing anything out of it.

Hoping for a strong team, if it was me I'd start Garnacho and save Rashford as he's coming back from a few niggles / illness.

    Id play:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------De Gea--------------------------------------------------
    AWB---------------------------------------Varane-----------------------Lindelof-----------------------------Shaw
    ---------------------------------------------------Casemiro-----------Eriksen-----------------------------------
    Anthony------------------------------------------------------Bruno-----------------------------------------Garnacho
    ------------------------------------------------------------------Martial----------------------------------------------------

Get the job done, Rashford off the Bench if we need a goal.

Quite looking forward to this game.

But really who does? Third or fourth this season it doesn’t matter. We just need CL qualification. We’ve won the league cup too, and have a shot at the FA Cup. So tell me why it would be used as something to beat us over the head with if we finish fourth, as per the original post I was replying to?

Y’all are forgetting that it’s Lampard managing this team. He’s a poor manager. We’ll win this

Obviously finishing third is better. Yes it doesn't change anything with regards to CL qualification but surely it has to have a more positive effect on the team knowing you finished third behind only city and arsenal. For me that would have the effect of can we do even better next season and get in those top 2 places.

This is the team I want to see as well.

It's time to let Garnacho cook.

Anyone else a little bit nervous? I know we've been solid at home and Chelsea is shit. But if we don't secure UCL in this game on sunday I'll be shitting myself.

Nervous? Ahead of a game? On the Caf? Hard to imagine.

The tactical battle is rarely the reason we lose. It's usually if the other team has more fight in them, thankfully this Chelsea team seems to have no fight.

I want that 2m pounds for for finishing 3rd versus 4th ! Not to mention be good to be on a winning run into the final.

Like every other poor premier league side, they will discover their passion in time to face us, you can rest assured

The important is top4. If that is achieved tonight we should rest player that need rest for the cup final. Not jeopardise anything and risk to lose the cup just because we wanted to be ahead of Newcastle.

We need to secure 4th spot, build confidence before the cup final and finish the season strong in general. There is plenty to play for here, and I want a win. Chelsea on the other hand are playing for whether to finish 11th, 12th or 13th, and their confidence must be shot.

    No excuses!

Same, Finland vs Canada at the ice hockey World Cup on at the same time but I couldn't care less about it because of tonight's game.

I don't want to analyze all the what-ifs and outcomes... I just want to see a win. Period. And we should win. Period.

    Rashford will start this.

    2019/20 he scored 17 goals.
2022/23 currently on 16 and playing the best football of his life.

3 games left. Maybe slightly injured. If you was him what would you do. Also needs a game or 2 to get ready for Wembley.

Garnacho is such a good option of the bench and always looks better coming on at 60 mins+.

Stick to normal XI and if we are motivated and crowd is pumped it should be a good night.

1-0 United. Mason Mount OG, pulling off his shirt to reveal a United shirt underneath

Chelsea will want to spoil our CL chances.
    Difficult game this.

Didn't realise we were playing lelsea today.

    It's clobbering time!

Let's see if this team can show the grit necessary to deliver Top 4 today. Chelsea are shambolic and there's no excuse to not get at least a point here.

An early goal to set the tempo of the game would be nice. Unsure if rashford starts or not. May go with sancho, martial, Antony.

1 point required from the two home games play to secure champions league football. Hopefully that's done tonight and we can all relax when watching the match v Fulham on Sunday.

And do not see guys who will be out in the summer. Lets see the new team on Sunday, get the job done today.
