Maguire getting stick for the Lennon goal when Bailly gave the ball away for it is exactly the content I expected when I came into the Match Day thread.

    McTominay's been fantastic today.

Great performance. Ronaldo could have had a hatrick.

Just make sure to get the next goal. If Burnley get it, it will be nervy.

I still would prefer better control of the game.

Even if he only does it against bottom tier teams, which is nonsense, it's 100% more teams than Cafe favourite Donny manages.
I agree. People in here dont realise that since the start of last season McT has scored more goals for United than Pogba

ronaldo is like a trusty old golden retriever. he is the apple of your eye. he used to go everywhere with you but the years have caught up with him. where he used to bound alongside you on a walk, he now spends most of his time laying on the rug in front of the fire, farting himself awake and soiling the floor whenever the doorbell startles him. just as you think his time is done and you start to load the shotgun, he brings his favourite toy up to you and places it in your lap and waits for a head stroke. you wipe a tear from your eye as you remove the cartridges for another day.

Why are we not building from the back?
It looks like deliberate tactic. We won’t win much of those long kicks by DDG

McTominay has been the motor in the first half, what a game. Let us hope the injury is not too serious. Shaw has been great too. If Bailly had not made a typical "United-mistake" it would have felt like "game over" now.

I’d like to see Maguire work on his 1v1 defending. He’s too easy prey for opposing attackers.

Much better. We need the next goal though. Maguire looks shaky as feck.

So, when players fecks up (and Bailly did), everything after that doesn't count? We can look away from the fact that 80 mil worth defender AGAIN looked awful on one on one situation. It wasn't like he was out of position. He was right there to deal with attacker
No but Bailly created a chance for them, simple.

Maguire was shepherding him wide and he’s taken a snap shot early that’s gone past him, happens all the time in that position, it’s a good finish.

That was a good half. I like our shape in the attack without Bruno's and Rashford's fecking up every single ball. We look more coherent without them and their inconsistent passing imo. No hard feeling but they need to be benched till they regain form.

Maguire needs to benched as well. He has been shit the entire season. I'll say it again but can't wait till the club realizes its mistake, accepts it then gets rid.

Otherwise, great that for once it seems like an easy game and we're mostly in control. Hopefully we add few more goals.

Scott, more of this performance please. Make yourself always a presence upfront.

He's fine against bottom tier teams, let's not big up mctominay when it's very likely he will be found out against the better sides.

No offense but I hate talk like this, bottom tier teams, flat track bully, found out against the bigger teams.

How many lower teams are there than United? How many bigger/same level?

If a player does it against the so called lower teams, that’s the majority of the season. We need those kinds of players too.

Should be 3 nil but for another Maguire error. Could this fraud be stripped of the captaincy already.

Sancho and Greenwood are what is making us tick in attack.

Very good close control, Mason just needs a goal to be back to himself, he needs confidence.

Cavani and Ronaldo with good movement upfront.

Scotty playing his game of the season.
Maybe because Matić is making him more comfortable?

And again. Maguire is the weakest link.
He's such a press trigger it's laughable by now.

Well better than the last game but still to open in defence.
Mctominay having one of his on fire games.

    You never disappoint do ya?

A lot to be encouraged about in attack, a shambles defensively.

Ronaldo missing chances is frustrating but encouraging. You'd back him to get that right eventually. It was more concerning in previous games that he has was getting very little.

Maguire needs to go. He's just not good enough and seems to instill panic in the rest of the group. I think Linelof and Varane need a fair run of games together. Shaw has showed everything good and bad about him at this game - Some great runs forward but some very lazy play which nearly cost us.

McTominay has been superb. I think Fred is normally the one given licence to push forward so with Matic sitting deeper he looks a different player. Most underrated player in the squad.

Don't know that I've seen McT play a better half. Shaw very good too. Not a great night for Bailly though, and Cavani not much in evidence. Sancho awful for 20 mins, then very good.

A lot more like it tonight. Although, defensively, we are still pretty ropey. We could score more if we are more clinical.

    Yeah that looks about right.

Who's top of the list out of interest. Maybe we should nick their set piece coach, second time lucky

Didn’t think I’d say this but might be worth bringing Cavani off and resting him for Monday. Doesn’t look 100% himself out there.
