well that is why i worry, we haven't been able to control the midfield in a while, not even against the weakers teams in the PL. That's a real shame
Imo they have probably the worst midfield in the league and often sit very deep and do long balls. And it's an away match for them.

Tbh if we fail to have control against Burnley that's hell of an achievement imho.

4222 works fine but not when you play a winger and a striker in the middle 2
    Yeah my thoughts as well.

I just want a performance of some kind, run more, fight for every ball, create more chances. I can’t take another repeat of the last two games.

Anyone who plays 4222 is rather clueless imho. It's 442 without the midfield control and defensive solidity.
4-4-2 isnt defensively solid with midfield control. The diamond shape gets lost when a midfielder has to track the fullback. If you mean flat 4-4-2, how does it have any control with 2 midfielders?

4-2-2-2 needs to be viewed from a pressing perspective anyway.

No doubt Burnley will be so fresh and energetic given they haven’t played so long, as opposed to rusty and all over the shop like we were.

The first 5 minutes at Newcastle killed me when I saw them jogging around after a 16 day break. They HAVE to show more energy tonight, it's inconceivable they don't so I'm cautiously optimistic to see how we start. It has to be better.

Agree. Regardless of any issues with adapting to a new system, If we don't have the right attitude and show some fight tonight we've got major problems.

    fecking Amazon showing it.

I have Amazon prime but not UK.

Anyone got a river I can report?

And in a 433 we'd magically have movement upfront?

    More control in midfield.
3 attackers means we also have more options when it comes to attacking, especially with Cavani leading the line.

Not convinced it works great with a 33 year old Matic having to cover the wide areas either…but we shall see!
Fred does it usually but tonight could be interesting

Looking forward to Greenwood and Sancho. Reckon those two are on the same wavelength.
They are atleast the only ones who don't give away the ball for fun. They might be able to move us up the pitch. Rashford and Bruno in those key positions were an unmitigated disaster.

Exactly this, I’ve lost interest in formations now, just pick a team and get them to put some serious effort in for a change.

De Gea is an open book when it comes to speaking to the media. I’m sure our PR department probably wishes he spoke less, but it’s refreshing to listen to him.

I wonder if we will manage to score more than 1 goal tonight?

Henry trolling all of us on amazon prime saying that Fred has finally reached the level people expected him to.

Varane dropped pisses me off.
Sure he had a bad game, but his other games for us he looked very good. One bad performance and he's dropped? What about Maguire who's been playing shit all fecking season!? I really don't understand this shit and it pisses me off.

It used to be the same with Valencia and Nani. Valencia plays like shit all the time but still gets picked. Nani finally gets a run of games and is immediately dropped after a bad performance.:wenger:
Dude, Varane just came back from injury and you want him to play twice in 3 days?

Interesting selections with Matic and Greenwood starting and Bruno dropped. I figured the fullbacks would be rotated but didn’t think Cavani was fit enough to start, glad he is.

WTF does VdB need to do to get a start at this club? I would love to see him start this game along side Matic. We are going to lose him and he's going to go on to have a great career somewhere else...
